yah, a bit weird.

and also, the english sentence below it does not have the same meaning.

Well, I'd admit the translation isn't close.

でも、勉強しようとするならば、成功になります
"But, if you try to study, success to become"

That's for a literal translation.

I would say it sounds weird because there are 2 "する” conjugations right beside each other.

でも、勉強しようと決めてならば、成功な人になります。
But, if you decide to try study it, you will become a successful person.

That should sound more natural.

Well, feel free to correct me if I make a mistake though. Learning is about making mistakes and correcting them.

A better way of saying is..

勉強してみたら、、成功できます。
If you try to study, you can succeed.

i think that is better.
the original sentence, i don't know what exactly is wrong but, it sounds too complicated.

my try:
勉強の決心をついたら、成功できます。
If you make up your mind to study, you can succeed.

なるほど。unfinishedさんの書きいた方がいいですね。

でも、日本語は言語ですよ、ただ一つ書き方がありません。

I see, that's a better way to put that sentence together.
But, Japanese is a language. There is not just one way to write a sentence.

Wateriさん、after a 「よ」、it's grammatically incorrect to put a comma. I have amended the sentence below

なるほど。unfinishedさんの書き方がいいですね。

でも、日本語は言語,ただ一つ書き方がありません。

I read and read, still find the sentence above, hard to amend....

my try...

でも、日本語は言語,文の作り方がひとつだけではなく、2つ、3つの作り方があるかもしれません。

Thanks a lot. I wanted to put a full-stop after the ”よ”。 but, ”で” in that case is fine too. The omission of "の” was the mistake on my part as well.

なるほど。unfinishedさんの書き方がいいですね。
I will have to disagree with this one. I am making a comparison, so I should use "書いた方” instead of "書き方”.

なるほど。unfinishedさんの書き方がいいですね。
I see, the writing style of unfinished-san is good.

Either way, I have only studied the language for 3 months+. I still have a lot to learn from you guys.

I feel like enrolling into a Japanese class, but the cost of a good class is atrocious...

書きいた

->「た」form for 書きます is 書いた (かいた).

「書きいた」は間違えました。。

JLPT 4 Prep L5

Studying 3 months and using grammar and vocabulary from JLPT 3 level is already very good.

if i'm not wrong, there is no such grammar like "書きいた"
if you meant to write the past tense of 書きます、is should be 書いた(書きました).

and for comparison, i think u meant "~のほうが”
in that case, it should be ”~の書き方のほうがいい”

("A" is better = ”A"のほうがいい)

writing style=書き方

Therefore, for the example above, "the writing style of "A" is better" should be:
"A" の書き方のほうがいい

by the way, its always better to get a proper teacher or enroll into a school to learn a language.
good things don't come cheap(most of the time).
everyone says ikoma's classes are damn expensive. but the size of ikoma has been expanding rapidly.
it's one of the biggest japanese lang school in singapore.
just think, why do so many people wanna go to ikoma despite the high school fees?

Sorry about that bit. I meant to say ”書いた方” and not ”書きいた方”。

書き方 means the way of writing.
書いた方 means the way of writing (but making a comparison).
ほど(程) can also be used as well to make a comparison

I guess self-teaching can only get me this far? That's depressing.

でも、日本語は言語ですので、文章の作り方が一つだけに限ってありません。
i think ~に限ってありません is JLPT2 level. if we want to make it simpler, can just write it as below:

でも、日本語は言語ですので、文章の作り方が一つだけではありません。
"not just one", meaning it can be 1, 2, 3, 4........

i have seen ppl who self study and are able to do well too.. Just that when they speak, the intonation is a bit strange...

It's not too late to enrol in a school, i recommend Hougang up to JLPT 3, then Ikoma from JLPT 2 onwards. =)

i'm not sure about this, but if u want to leave the 書いた in front as it is, maybe it should be 書いた方法。
書き方is made up of ”ます” form + 方法

so 書きます+方法=書き方

but then, i think that 書いた方法 isn't being used much....

I think I will continue to do self-study, until I am confident enough to take a JLPT2 class.

じゃあ、今で勉強すべきと思う。
