It is JLPT registration time again. Anybody doing N3? I noted that somehow not many schools offer JLPT N3 preparation classes. Probably people are still not clear of the scope of N3 other than being somewhere between previous level 2 and 3.

今年の試験登録はオンラインでできるみたい。
試験費は例年より$10高くなった。
2008年4級合格したけど、もう二年間ぐらい日本語が使っていないから、今年どのレベルを受けるか迷ってる。

Doesn't seem much different as compared to the previous year...

Every year it's different. If u hv to sign up, u hv to take the risk to give up either the marathon or JLPT if the time happen to be the same on that day. Even if the time is favorable to take both one after another, u hv to consider if u wld be able to focus after all that tiring run in the morning. Surely u did not sign up for the full marathon rite ?

hi ... which school allows you to cut in if you have some experience from self study? Also more interested in spoken rather than written ...

Actually most of the schools in Singapore like Bunka or Ikoma does allow you to cut in. After proving to them through the interview with one of their sensei, after that they will recommend the level for you to start from. I did it through this way last year.

then in this case, it might be better to go for conversation japanese classes instead of theory classes?

Long-time lurker. My last post was in 2009 ;)

I've noticed that some people prefer to learn conversational Japanese rather than learn "boring" stuff in class. I might be able to help in that respect.

I've taught a group of slightly more than 10 people conversational Japanese from March to May this year using a popular 2008 drama series with the full scripts in Japanese. The feedback was generally positive.

This post is not an advertisement (to the moderator: I hope this is useful to the Japanese learning community =:p) so if anyone is interested in knowing more about this course, please PM me :look:
