This phrase is used usually in a formal request, particularly useful when the request comes from someone to whom you are indebted and cannot refuse-a sponsor or patron or the person who act as the MC at your wedding...

N2/N3 prep class, currently nobody asking. i have changed to a beginner class. You might want to try the current normal class. Trial lesson available for normal class. The students who tried the trial lesson usually sign up after that.

For conversation class, we will start with pronunciation of words, then speaking of daily events using a conversation textbook topped with special notes, then move on to business japanese conversation speech and Osaka dialect (Skype session with a Osaka friend). This is a 1 year course. but i don't have anyone asking yet...

oh. currently I'm in Ikoma's N2 Prep course and Bunka's PA1 course.

The N2 prep class is really fast. I dont even know how am I going to memorise everything by the end of the year, though I am interested in taking JLPT N2 by the end of the year.

the conversation class sounds good. I want more details! I am not getting enough practice in Bunka! 残念だな。。

I went through the prep class before, but i felt the lesson is a bit too fast too. It should be for those people who has read up on N2 grammar before you attend the prep class. 2 of my students went through the prep class, didn't make it for N2 and jumped ship to my class. I told them,

Learning Japanese shouldn't be just passing JLPT and that's it.
I once rejected 20 JLPT 1 holders when they were applying for jobs in my ex-company, because they had the certificates, but they just couldn't speak. -__-"

They can't speak Japanese or they can't use keigo fluently?

Yes I had been through IKOMA N2 prep class. I quite enjoyed the class because my teacher was really fun. Since it was a prep class, I was more like learning exam techniques to score for exam.
As for grammar and vocab it was really up to the students to learn themselves . Maybe I am more suited to the fast pace learning as well. Haha...

But I suppose Dimitri sensei is another option for you since he is very experienced in teaching Japanese.

They can speak. But speak in pieces. If you understand what i mean... Keigo is also very important when you are applying a japanese related job.

Before interview, we even hint to them to revise their keigo, but somehow that didn't seem to go through.

That's why now, in my beginner class, they start learning Keigo as well.. I teach bit by bit. Like 1 day 1 phrase.

For those that like AKB48, please don't laugh when you see this.

Yes, keigo is important.

But keigo is one the few things in Japanese that I (or many other stduents) really dislike learning. There are many rules to keep in mind and without constant practice, keigo just slips away. I still rmb the time when I can't differentiate 参ります and いらっしゃいます or when to use お　and ご。Maybe we dun see the need to keep keigo in mind until there is a need for it (e.g exams or working in jap companies), at least in Singapore.

And yes, I am a jlpt 1holder. Haha... I admit I suxs at keigo. That's why I am taking business jap to refresh my buried keigo. If not probably I will be rejected by Jap companies too.

こんにちは。 For Keigo, there are many types. Are you referring to tele-conversation skills, business writing emails or business manners?

Hmmmm... I'm not too sure. The current keigo knowledge I know is very limited. Like those very basic only. That is why I would like to build it up...

If you fail by 5 marks, you should revise your N5 stuff. It usually means your foundation is shaky. So when you move on to N4, it becomes hard on you.

If you are willing, i am willing to give you free tuition for 2 hours to help you revise your N5 stuff. (^_^)

But timing wise, might be either very early or very late...

Let me know. I always believe in sharing as much as possible. =)
