If you are talking about the blue textbook, I do have it. (since i already have 2 ring files piled up with N5 notes and assignments) But my friend wants it as well.

If you want, I also have the N5 mock test assessment book, it's still pretty fresh imo...lol (先生にいつも宿題をたくさん貰ったんだ。その本をまだやってないですぐN5試験を受けたから、その本はまだ新しく見えると思う。)

I can't even understand some of the words without a dictionary although I have been learning for years.

Children's novels at first, and then even adults' novels.
If I study in Ikoma, from basic course, what level do I need to study until, in order to be able to read a novel?

To complete understand a novel with a dictionary, maybe about Advanced?

I'm quite curious about the GCE O level Japanese, from what i've known, it says that the level is equivalent to the old JLPT3 (N4?). However, after some searching, i can't seem to find any sample papers online.

Has anyone tried out that exam before? It's different from JLPT, no multiple choices though.

hmm. There are lots of Japanese schools available.

Not just Bunka and Ikoma.

You need to do more research, ask more questions, then decide the school that you wish to attend. A school that is good with 1 may not be good for the other.

Another thing, for those aspiring learners,
it is more important to learn how to speak (tone) than reading/writing.
I've seen many singaporeans N1-2 holders speaking unnaturally like robots reading off a script.
Learn natural japanese by mimicking tones in variety shows/dramas (not anime pls), go drinking parties with japanese people if you have the opportunity.

As for myself, i went to japan 15 times since 2007. Earlier this year, I went to japan for exchange and got myself a japanese girlfriend. But now i could only skype with her everyday to maintain our relationship and my language lol.

back in singapore, i subscribe to japanese television which costs me about $35 per month but it keeps my exposure to japanese language active as well.

one more year i'll graduate from ntu and i will definitely work in japan!
