Bro, can u try to connect ur speaker to ur monitor out so hdmi transmit the sound channel ?

hmm good idea. will try and get hold of a HDMI cable and see if that works. My DP cable doesn't seem to carry audio

boss, i say many times alr. testing speakers on phone got no issue. only got issue when plug into pc. it's not speaker issue. speakers close to 5 yr old as well so no more warranty

Get a cheap soundcard lo, since ur motherboard audio already uplorry. Anyway I won't use the crappy onboard sound

Well it's common for 3.5mm plug to go loose with bad connection
Probably due to bad material and oxidation

Onboard audio ok la very good already. Nowadays the recent release motherboard onboard audio the sound is already very good. Can dare say 70% of average pc users are ok with it and will not hear any difference between onboard audio and cheap $20-$50 dac amp. And the sound that comes out of it are good enough.

Only the more niche users or audiophiles will probably want something more. My only complain with modern onboard motherboard audio is the volume only. Sometimes it doesn't sound loud enough have to rely on my sound blaster play 3 usb dac amp for increase volume and louder sound.

try boot linux on usb to test eg youtube. common ones like ubuntu, mint, puppy, solus etc

eh bro. u have to check if is correct anot.

ur monitor gt 2 port, 1 is line out another is headphone out. basically 1 is to transmit to the monitor if ur not using hdmi.

since u using hdmi, u can just connect to i think is headphone out.

then after that u have to go sound setting.

by right one of them is the name of your monitor under playback device for eg the name is the benq monitor. right click and set to default. then try again. on your monitor the 2 3.5mm, if 1 dont work try the other. monitor the port cannot be spoil one, the chance very low

Your onboard must be really chui if that is better than your onboard.

i encountered the same issue last time...try to remove all cables from the sub-woofer and connect back...then test again

1. connect to port 3 as labelled below

2. on ur pc, go to sound settings > sound control panel
under playback devices, right click your monitor and set as default.
it should work.

thx boss. i cant believe i didnt see the headphone jack at the back of monitor. was connecting the speakers to the jack on the side instead.

Anyway, the left speaker works when connected to the audio jack on the monitor. Only problem is, the audio quality is so bad that using one speaker connected to the mobo actually sounds better lol

Im stunned u say audio quality bad. Hdmi cable issue? Port issue? Try to turn the wires around or adjust the wire around the jacks up and down while musc playing to see which the issue is.

Swap the 3.5mm to 3.5mm cables betwen the 2 speakers, the speaker to pc and speaker to sub and test. U might have a hint of where the issue lies

lol it was bad because I didn't have the Nvidia HD audio driver installed. It sounds ok now after installing it. Guess this will be the workaround for the time being until I find time to install a linux distro onto one my spare drives. thanks for the help!

My advice,If it aint broken now, dont try to fix it further.

Just use it as it is, since its all good alr.

for testing just run linux from usb, no need install...
