Yup, being an engineer in Singapore has no future!
After many years of hard study and long hours of sacrifice as far as family life is concerned, Singapore 'upper-class' people strongly believed that non engineering background person could manage SMRT. That time, many people had doubted that woman but to no avail. According to the report, it hinted that many mid level and experienced engineers left SMRT during her era.
Why? Cos local engineers are not valued in Singapore. Any good things(profitability) are the effort of non engineering people and the bad things always belong to the engineers. That ft woman is still earning big bucks in another company while the loyal engineers and technical staff are solving the ****s created...and in the near future I guess the commuters would have to pay for her 'great' leadership.
Tell me... what is the point of being an engineer in Singapore when a non engineer can take over the helm of an engineering company with the support of LTA? Are we telling our younger generation that one can be a publicly well known lousy leader of a company and still be rich and successful? One thing is certain.. I would never ask my children to be an engineer!
