The RealSense SnapShot should be more useful for phone and digital cameras than the cameras in tablets.

Yeah. Video, picture editing on the go. Makes thing more simpler and easier to edit. Although it might not replace a full desktop features, but it helps a lot for friends whom just want simple editing software of pictures or videos and simply straight upload it to their social media platform. Neat and easy.

Many nice features, but probably the 3D scanning/printing and object avoidance would have widespread applications elsewhere.

the dell Inspiron 24 7000 is ultra thin and ultra-stylish and is the thinnest 23.8" all-in-one desktop with Intel realsense camera able to accentuate any room in the house... :o

Yeah the Inspiron 24 7000 looks really good!

Think the best application for this RealSense technology is gaming. Imagine a 3D game of laser tag online with Oculus...perfect!

Anyway the guy in the video more like using that program at 0:32 timing.

Pretty cool that it has 3 lenses (standard 2d camera, infrared camera and infrared laser projector).. so like in the video maybe those features can help modelling characters or even model 3d buildings.

Fwah they can even measure distance between objects inside picture!

The Dell Venue 8 7000 tablet has the RealSense Snapshot camera, which adds depth information to photos it takes. With photos taken on the tablet, I was able to measure the distance between two points by drawing a line on the picture with my finger. For example, the software told me that the radius of a bike wheel in a photo was 27 inches.

There are apps in the play store that can do distance and height measurement. Tried a few times, result were quite accurate. Maybe intel realsense technology are able simplify the measuring process.

The revolutionary Intel® RealSense™ Camera uses depth-sensing technology so your PC sees more like you do. Use the added dimension to scan 3D objects, control your PC with gestures, or create a more lifelike video chat environment. Reinvented video chat lets you customize your background, and share content with friends as if you're in the same room together.

If the intel realsense camera is on the monitor, how to do 3d scanning? Saw people taking 3d scan for making figurine, they had to stand very still while the 'photographer' went a few rounds with the handheld scanner.

User has to move the monitor around the object or it is only limited to gesture?
