Yeah looking at how quickly king Ohayo! acquire his daily 43 at every campaign this year, i am also content with Alienware Alpha. At least it's a rather great jump from the monitors in terms of stated SRP value. :s22:

Congratulations on the alienware alpha, I think it will make a good secondary pc cum streaming box cum gaming console that you can connect to your main TV. It is better than those Android tv boxes

This amplifier box will, in fact, saves buyers money on the long run without needing to change laptop in order to upgrade graphics performance if without it as Alienware continues to expand its graphics card compatibility list into the future. I only hope this amplifier box and its cable can last long enough to see the long term benefit described.

Given this amplifier using proprietary connection, hopefully Alienware don't troll users with newer revision of the box with an updated cable revision that is backwards incompatible.

I feel if there is a newer connection protocol, alienware have no choice to use different connection and cables if not will limit the update revision of the graphic amplifier. You just have to buy this first version and treat it as a beta tester

Turbo Boost as in Alienware laptop or Dell inspiron 17 7000 ? Or only in DIY cpu system?

All Intel core i7 pc have turbo boost by default. The 6820hk in alienware 17 boost to 4.1ghz which is faster than Intel specifications of 3.6ghz! So there you have it, alienware officially supports overclocking.

Hmm.. but how are those phone manufacturers able to squeeze in liquid cooling in their phones?

Im not sure how much of a difference will it make compared to traditional liquid cooling found in desktops but if they can incorporate it inside phones and still able keep it thin and slim, they should be able to do the same for thin gaming laptops while still maintaining the powerful gaming performance.

Liquid cooling inside smartphones is rather different from the active watercooling solution for PCs, rather identical to the vapour chamber technology found on Nvidia high end SKU chip and traditional HSF air cooler like Cooler Master Hyper 212X, with the lack of an active motor pump as the differing factor.

Having such liquid vapour chamber solution inside laptop instead of full fledge watercooling is a great idea to improve its reliability since there's no need for active motor pump. I believe such vapour chamber system should be implemented inside Alienware laptops to improve cooling, lower internal temps and enables longer sustainability of internal CPU and discrete graphics's peak performance.

Rather than calling them beta tester, latest tech pioneer sounds much better...

Since they are one of the few severals to be able to enjoy highest end desktop grade graphics performance, they won't feel bad about going obsolescence that fast.

For Alienware 17 R3 laptop or Dell Inspiron 17 7000 laptop, other than liquid cooling or fans cooling, they can consider cooling gel in the laptop~

Gamers would benefits from noiseless portable system.

what rubbish is this.. cooling gel in laptop :s13:

you know how this cooling gel works or not? you have to put it in the freezer to get it to be cold. if (lets say somehow someone manage to incorporate cooling gel into a laptop) the cooling gel is inside the laptop it will just absorb all the heat from the components and stay hot all the way. there is no solution to reduce the heat from the cooling gel. so the longer you use the laptop the more heat it absorbs and it becomes an oven :s22:

I just played with the realsense app kagura which is installed in the Dell 24 7000 insprion. It is some musical apps which you can play various types of instruments, controlling with your finger as you wave without touching the screen. There is one sample which have 8 bit instruments. I find the apps extremely snappy in registering my fingers. The video capture me and the frames per second is also very fast.

Only thing is the apps is not highlighted at all! After I launched and play it, and left, the litle girl besides me immediately went to try her turn and it looks she was captived by it. Young children are used to touch screen, but motion sensing is something new for them

is the Dell Inspiron 24 7000's Intel RealSense 3D camera accurate and is able to track 22 points??

Alienware 15 or 17 laptop also have turbo boost??

I do agreed on this. Better cooling system definitely will help in laptop performance but at the same time this will increase the weight/size. It is a not a easy task for the manufactures to overcome it. This is the reason why Dell came out this Alienware Graphics Amplifier for serious gamers where it will help to reduce some stress of the Alienware stock GPU.

Alienware Graphics Amplifier is good as in it does not contribute to the heat produced in the laptop as it is an external unit. maybe the laptop can also use an external cooling system to cool the temperature in the laptop thus improving performance.

previous contests they seldom give bonus points but they were very fast in deducting points for some of us and causing us to drop out of the contest. dunno why this time admins decided to give so much bonus points.

in this contest the time of posting is the most important factor rather than bonus points. just like i have more bonus points but still lose to you due to my timing.

It should not void warranty i believe if you do discreetly and do not flash with unsupported bios. I also think Alienware will have built in limiter and restricters to prevent users to overvolt and kill the hardware.

Talking about overclocking, it should be something for the likes of gaming grade hardware like Alienware laptops.

The 970M graphics is a good overclocker according to feedback on the interwebs, where it can reach as good as a 980M after you play overclocks. With Alienware superior cooling system, i like to see how much it can overclock.

is it really necessary to overclock?? the Alienware laptops are quite powerful in terms of performance and together with the Alienware Graphics Amplifier are already giving out quite alot of performance power.

How about Alienware gaming box? I just looked at the newest Alienware X51, now it comes quad core i7 skylake, it is another big update from the first version which only use i3, shows Alienware committed to go full on with gaming box PC. It also comes with graphics amplifier connector!

How it managed to cool the i7 in a box about the same size as Xbox1? It use water cooling now, in the first version was a boring silver heatsink fan!
This looks cooler like a nice compact creation from Alienware.

Size of X51, not much bigger than Xbox1.

How about $$$face alienware alpha?

The $1699 model also come with i7 quad core! The size? Smaller than PS4, about the size of Android TV box but packs a powerful cpu and good discrete Nvidia gpu
5dAb.jpg

How it manage to cool the itx gaming PC box, it use another dual fan setup, with screwed on black heat sink. The cover easily unscrew off to access the insides.

Only missing is the graphics amplifier port, i think a new Skylake revision will add it in, so i will think Alienware is committed with the graphics amplifier.

definitely you dont expect apple products use it unless apple ownself introduce their own version of Alienware Graphics Amplifier. you like it or not company will use proprietary connector. Company will like to have something over their rival in this case Dell for Alienware Graphics Amplifier while MSI got theirs too

yes, it's all about the money game, if can monopolize they will do it.

cost issue lo~ how much graphics intensive game gamers prefer use touchscreen than keyboard/mouse? to them maybe not an extra add value to lure gamer to buy the Alienware laptop

true, high end graphic intensive touchscreen games and apps are so limited, thus it makes no sense for Alienware to have touchscreen.
