that is the last thing that most of us wants :o

Hmm. Kinda true, since judging frm experience with Samsung rewards, by the 20th day or so many people in this thread will be posting nonsense anyway coz they ran out of topics to discuss. Those fighting for the top rpozes will start replying to every single comment they can find (with the keywords), and singmob will continue to multi-quote hundreds of comments in his posts. So the 43-point cap is quite fair for a competition thread that will degrade into a troll thread by the 30th day, i guess.

Wah seems like this Intel RealSense 3D camera has a shorter range than Microsoft Kinect. So it is only merant for close up ddetection and cannot really replace Wii or Kinect

If you’re not already familiar, Intel RealSense is effectively a Kinect, but with shorter range and higher resolution, and fitted in the bezel of a laptop or tablet, like a conventional webcam. Where the Kinect takes in the entire living room, RealSense has an effective range of about a meter, but a much greater resolution and responsiveness within that limited range.

Perhaps if admins were to do away with the 43 points daily limit and award prizes based on rankings on the leaderboard, that would encourage more participation? Rather than fellow HWZers stay up until some crazy hours for the timer to reset, and yet they cant earn any points for meaningful posts while the timer has yet to be reset? A HWZer who posts 800 meaningful comments a day here gets the same daily points cap as a fellow HWZer who comes at the 24hr mark and only contributes 5 posts?

Just throwing out some suggestions.

mrsinkie from edmw will win all the prizes. :s13::s13:

this dell xps 13 laptop he sure win one. :s13:

The video shows that the person is using a Dell Inspiron 24 7000 with Intel RealSense Camera to game.

His probably in control with the game that he is playing and take charge with boundless imagination.

It shows how future gaming could be that intuitive and innovative it can be. It can also be a form of allowing users do more than just what a regular pc can do.

The guy in the video is making use of the Intel® RealSense™ Camera on the DELL Inspiron 24 7000 to control the PC.

Intel® RealSense™ Camera elevates user interface to futuristic levels by sensing depth and tracking human motion.
Devices with Intel® RealSense™ Camera have three lenses: a conventional camera, an infrared camera, and an infrared laser projector. Together, the three lenses allow the device to infer depth by detecting infrared light that has bounced back from objects in front of it. This visual data, taken in combination with Intel® RealSense™ motion-tracking software, create a touch-free interface that responds to hand, arm, and head motions as well as facial expressions.

In this case, the guy is using his hand to control the PC. With up to 22 tracking points per hand, even playing games with just the Intel® RealSense™ Camera becomes an ease.

Can see possibility for hand gesture control gaming especially when paired with 3D glasses or oculus rift. Dell produce great monitors too. Im using their monitor for desktop currently.

Why dont Dell or other manufacturer include the camera for their desktop monitors ah? :s11:

All the best.

After the experience with Samsung Rewards, I'm not gonna be sucked into this 30-day rat race only to find that others beat me to the limited prizes at the end of it. And somemore the Dell vouchers are effectively useless if not intending to buy new laptops. So only incentive for people to stay in this thread is either fight for the top prizes or up post count for free...

ya quite tiring to do this for almost 30 days. :s13: only the first 15 members can say got something that is worth it.

To be honest in SG I seldom see people use Dell laptop. Even with this RealSense technology I doubt it will do strong in SG :(

Last time sell Dell laptop also people take other brand brochure and ask me why Dell so expensive :(

The Dell android tablet maybe still can survive (if the pricing not too expensive).

Thats why Dell partner up with Intel to introduce the Intel® RealSense™ Camera. To be honest its quite useful for mobile devices; and since nowadays tablets/notebooks are all in one its quite a great combination. Especially the camera which can see depth images
