Intel also big company. Dell also mah.
They have plenty of resources to invest in this new technology. But since Microsoft havent released anything similar for PC users, perhaps they intend to depend and work together with Intel to push their RealSense 3D technology to complement with their Windows 10 Hello.
Their RealSense work with other OS like Android too.

Changing Focus
Hindsight is a wonderful thing - and it's now available in tech form. The Intel® RealSense™ allows you to realign photographs to your specific desires, shifting focus between subjects in the frame. Got a friend who hates the photo? Not a problem, sink them into the background. Want to focus on the birthday girl? Done - just apply and re-order to your hearts desire.
got mah. kinect for windows.
This is the best function hands down for me. So much win.
But i wonder how they store the photo and image data captured to allow them to change the focus and depth with the Intel RealSense 3d camera.
do they have their own proprietary format or something? surely take up a lot of data...

For me, I think faceshift is what I will aim at lol. 3D scanning and printouts are fun but requires many ink leh. That time i went funan the promoter was showing us 3D printer, wah so expensive sia. At least faceshift my parents would be laughing too, and won't cause much as it's mostly software base

Hahahahahha this is soooo cool! I want this sia. My friend also always siam photo or purposely look away. This is more on the software or hardware or both? Intel and Dell are making this too?
Like that they say: Intel is the future ~![]()
Yes, anything they use to create from printer is costly. Hardware everything is cost. From manufactuerer to freight, to warehouse and finally advertisingPass on to consumers at the end.
Software technology like Intel 3D RealSense Camera with Intel® RealSense™ technology not say cheap also, but at least it is a basic mode of scan which they have to implement in every device like Dell and Windows Hello (for free).![]()
