Intel also big company. Dell also mah.

They have plenty of resources to invest in this new technology. But since Microsoft havent released anything similar for PC users, perhaps they intend to depend and work together with Intel to push their RealSense 3D technology to complement with their Windows 10 Hello.

Their RealSense work with other OS like Android too.

Great to know

Changing Focus

Hindsight is a wonderful thing - and it's now available in tech form. The Intel® RealSense™ allows you to realign photographs to your specific desires, shifting focus between subjects in the frame. Got a friend who hates the photo? Not a problem, sink them into the background. Want to focus on the birthday girl? Done - just apply and re-order to your hearts desire.

This is the best function hands down for me. So much win.

But i wonder how they store the photo and image data captured to allow them to change the focus and depth with the Intel RealSense 3d camera.

do they have their own proprietary format or something? surely take up a lot of data...

i did a project in school last time regarding the kinect. its very cheap to produce these camera, infrared projector and laser sensors. Its only $56 according to the link below.

http://www.eetimes.com/document.asp?doc_id=1257872

however as mentioned before, this Intel RealSense camera can use to take depth photos too.. not only gaming. i guess its Intel RealSense 1:Kinect 0 :vijayadmin:

Like that if might want to try this Intel RealSense camera before purchase..Normally first batch got lots of thing to fix...

Should come with RealSense Camera, then can use Windows Hello in Windows 10 with Surface Pro 4.
Surface Pro 4 can use other software for Intel realsense camera other than Windows Hello in Windows 10

True. Ink still damn expensive to procure. Damn emo sometimes buy printer also must think of ink cost

Yes, anything they use to create from printer is costly. Hardware everything is cost. From manufactuerer to freight, to warehouse and finally advertising :( Pass on to consumers at the end.

Software technology like Intel 3D RealSense Camera with Intel® RealSense™ technology not say cheap also, but at least it is a basic mode of scan which they have to implement in every device like Dell and Windows Hello (for free). :o

For me, I think faceshift is what I will aim at lol. 3D scanning and printouts are fun but requires many ink leh. That time i went funan the promoter was showing us 3D printer, wah so expensive sia. At least faceshift my parents would be laughing too, and won't cause much as it's mostly software base

Wait a while and wait for it to be mainstream surely will be come cheaper.

I foresee next time every househould will own one 3D printer and even the plastic will be cheap.

3D scanning good for artist or people who do models. Can use for school work too i guess. Faceshift good for those social media lol. Just change background and pretend that you are oversea.

can bluff your boss if u keng MC too :s13:

Dell or Intel need to make the price affordable to consumer, otherwise less people are going to try this technology in near future. ;)
