saw this article: Without apps, Intel's RealSense camera is a puzzle

I certainly don’t want to imply that Intel’s RealSense is dead or not worthwhile—not by any means. Intel did us the courtesy of providing us hardware that few actually have. But Intel clearly wanted journalists to walk away thinking that developers need to get on board and support the platform. We’ll agree. If RealSense is going to become mainstream, we need some mainstream uses for it.

But also require more software developers to adopt this Intel RealSense technology. Since Razer already collaborating with them, we can surely expect to see new gaming peripherals and games for us to play and make use of the full functions of the 3D camera, infrared scanning etc.

Not just accuracy though. Sensitivity is key too. Sometimes it gets very frustrating when you are trying to play a game in Xbox or kinect and it doesn't even recognize your existence :s22:

But so far, we have seen images that show how Real sense have map out key points of human body to recognize the slightest movements. So hopefully it performs slight better. :s8:

A quick question though... what would you guys use the real sense technology for? Other than playing games obviously.. haha.

Yup sensitivity is definitely a key factor for motion detection. Haven't come.across any articles saying the sensitivity is bad?

I probably will try all that realsense technology can do especially the preciseness of the depth sensing camera, measure objects etc to see how it fares.

The video probably shows a guy whom is playing Space Astro Blaster using the Intel RealSense Camera using RealSense Technology.

He is using a few hand gestures to play the game. With 22 tracking points on hand, he was able to control the game with his hand. It is basically a fun and enjoying experience.

Not just games that one could enjoy, with RealSense Camera, users are able to use the camera depth-sensing technology so that the PC sees more like users do. And it can be added to dimension to scan 3D objects, control the PC with gestures, or create a more lifelike video chat environment. Reinvented video chat lets users to customize their background, and share content with friends as if they were in the same room together.

It is really creative!

he is going to get reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaly tired shortly. :s13:

This event seem like less ppl taking part maybe a suggestion to the HWZ admin, instead of having top 1-3 prize expensive item i suggest to spread out the prize value to lure more users to take part in such "reward event" so that omost all the users whom take part will have a prize no matter small or big. For example previous samsung memory card event the prize is small but there is many quantity for users to redeem thus more active posts. This event even though the top 2 prize is good but if you decrease the budget value for the top prizes and give out more smaller prize(not discount coupon unless it is super attractive). Win win situation for hwz to achieve marketing/promote product objective and users who take part will not be empty handed :)

maybe can ask Dell to sponsor 50x Intel realsense 3D camera toy keychain~? :s22:

Can't wait for a hologram live 3D Realsense pc environment. Lock inside room and it transforms into a virtual world. Even if my room small it can also project to be as big as a bungalow  Is this even possible? :o

Ehy not? Technology improves forever
