I think its worth it. previously at COMEX 2015, Dell Inspiron 7000 cost $1,999 with these specs

although you get lesser ram but at least its 8GB

For those interested to buy the previous promo video's Dell Inspiron 24 7000 , here is the pros & cons which i compiled from website review them

Pros:
Great-looking IPS display
Responsive touch-screen capabilities
Intel RealSense 3D camera

Cons:
Mediocre graphics performance
HDD instead of SSD
Pricey

feel free to addon if there is more pros/cons

Another disadvantage is not able to DIY upgrade its hardware.

Actually quite a good deal, the Aftershock SM-15 with similar specs costs $1699, but only has a FHD screen. The Dell Inspirion 15 7000 also looks slim and stylish!

Dell Inspiron i5 7000 is not really a ultra portable... My portable is less than 1.5KG... Even with Intel RealSense 3D camera using RealSense Technology or 'good battery life', so heavy also lazy lug around lor

Yes the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 is over 2kg, not that portable.
And the screen size is 15.6", makes it quite big size for carrying everywhere. It is maybe good for a desktop replacement.

Fully agreed, Inspiron 15 7000 definitely better than Inspiron 24 7000 in term of performance.

like that isn't so long lasting le.. if no more warranty means have to pay a premium to repair since laptop servicing doesn't come cheap have to agree their next day support is good

I buy pro-support, the nbd fix is very good. The GPU broke down in the 3rd year, without pro-support, i will have to junk it away. Dell used to offer 5 years Pro support with accidental coverage for good price.

The Inspiron 15 7000 (7559) Pro Support for 3 years only $160 which is 8% more of the base price, the warranty value is too good to pass on. Which other laptop brand offers such complete coverage at low prices?

Stole this picture from a user of Inspiron 15 7000 (7559) and the back cover pops out easily and you can access the internals to diy!

The single channel memory is not fast enough, buy another stick of sodimm DDR4!
The 1TB SSD is too slow for you, replace it with a 2.5" SSD!
You are feeling rich, pop in a M.2 SSD!
For a $1899, the diy path is easy to access.

Compare between Dell Inspiron 24 7000 with Dell Inspiron 15 7000, I will choose Dell Inspiron 24 7000 as it has Intel RealSense 3D camera with Realsense Technogy.

Dell Inspiron 15 7000 looks good for its 4K UHD touchscreen which this might be one of their selling point.

Hard to choose since Dell Inspiron 24 7000 has Intel® RealSense™ 3D Camera with Windows 10 Hello and the other no Intel® RealSense™ technology but with 4K UHD Touchscreen.

Maybe just wait for more 4K content to be produced before buying a 4K laptop like the Dell Inspirion 15 7000.
Unless if you only want to play games in 4K, then it should be ok?

Actually not many choice for 4K content, I only know Warner Brothers, 20th Century Fox and the Discovery Channel produce 4K movies and TVs shows.

Nowadays 4K/UHD devices like TV, camera or mobile phones can be found in the market.
