How does these laptops compare to Alienware laptops and Graphics Amplifier?
The MSI SLI laptop is $5699!

It is always a trilemma to choose between better cooling system, better performance, or smaller/lighter weight and size, either 2. All 3 can only be possible achieved if Intel/AMD/Nvidia release an super imba energy efficient CPU and GPU microarchitecture chip and when laptop makers found their secret sauce to best cooling/size ratio. Without the former delivering such progress, it will always be a distant dream for such ideal laptop.![]()
Hmm.. interesting. Have you tried before? Any ideas how is the gaming experiences?Actually a lot of such ideas in the market. I recently read about some cloud gaming service where you can play your games in the cloud.
So dont need to require expensive high performance gaming PC, just play from normal PC while the game runs in the cloud. Of course this requires a very fast fibre connection and servers close to home to reduce latency but with 1 or even 2Gbps fibre here, it should not be a major problem. Of course, the service is not free and its chargeable but it saves you the cost from regularly upgrading your PC parts to play the latest games. This technology is still quite new so can expect it to be buggy but I can see the potential.
I wont post the name here, in case its against the rules but its listed under this wiki.
If you are interested you can read up more on it:

Having 2 M.2 slots is already very well sufficient for everyone. I feel that they could have further optimise the internal layout better to pack slightly bigger battery to improve the meagre battery life or for heatsink to cool system better on the 2 x M.2 worth of space as it seemed more like a slab of wasted space there. Who seriously will uses that many M.2 SSDs there?

Exactly, I do feel it is more for the niche, richer gamers.I think most gamers play at home using their powerful gaming desktops. Maybe only rich ppl buy Alienware laptops and bring them to each other's houses for gaming sessions.
I dun tink 4k uhd is necessary for laptops due to screen sizes, max 18" for alienware range? Really can't see the differences bah. For touchscreen, I also have the opinion that while it is good to have, I still prefer keyboard and mouse for action packed games, hands can rest easily on table also. Imagine hands raising and pointing at the screens for a prolonged gaming sessions. Tiring man.I thought Dell Alienware already have 4K UHD screen, though no touchscreen only.
Since you are paying 50% more for the Dell Alienware stickers pasted on the casing, why not settle for more features such as Intel Realsense Camera and 4K UHD touchscreen.
A cheaper Dell Inspiron 24 7000 has everything in a very compact and portable size also, only lack of a battery pack to power the unit.

And I thought Dell Inspiron 24 7000 is an AIO, not laptop?![]()

Maybe Dell can include RealSense + Windows 10 Hello support in their R3 or R4 of the Dell Alienware series laptops.

He blurred between Dell Inspiron 15 7559 and the Dell Inspiron 24 7000 AIO![]()
I just played with the realsense app kagura which is installed in the Dell 24 7000 insprion. It is some musical apps which you can play various types of instruments, controlling with your finger as you wave without touching the screen. There is one sample which have 8 bit instruments. I find the apps extremely snappy in registering my fingers. The video capture me and the frames per second is also very fast.
Only thing is the apps is not highlighted at all! After I launched and play it, and left, the litle girl besides me immediately went to try her turn and it looks she was captived by it. Young children are used to touch screen, but motion sensing is something new for them
Update on 13 November
Video Teaser for Week 4: Alienware
Take your power on the go
We'll be posting up a video about another featured product on Monday, 16 November. Stay tuned!

The new video introduced Alienware Laptops awesome specs and nice dated stylish design.
but never mention more about the Alienware Graphics Amplifier, what it can do, initially I thought was Alienware desktop cpu.![]()

Haha, maybe i thot how come compare lappy become AIO...
integrated graphics can only play football manager on low settings and totally cant play the sims as it will crash. min at least a GTX 960 for sims to be on high settings with good frame rates.
The internal graphics of Dell inspiron 17 7000 was so bad?Dell Alienware 4K screen only come by default for Alienware 17 most expensive version the rest you need to topup few hundreds to upgrade it to 4K screen
24inch not very portable leh~ if want portable get Inspiron 14 series lo 14inch screen less bulky
I guess Dell Inspiron 14 series will be too small for any gamers, they would prefer big screen like Dell Alienware 17 R3.
This scenario is common when all Dell products like Dell Inspiron 15 7000 series, Dell 24 7000, Realsense Technology, Windows 10 Hello etc were discussed under one Let's Dell thread. People tends to messed their features.![]()

At the moment touchscreen still a marketing incentive than a demand by users how often you will use touchscreen on Dell Alienware laptop when you gaming? users will prefer use mouse to point and click(first player game) or controller to make the movement.
I certainly won't want liquid cooling to implement inside the laptop chassis due to risk of water leaking and its domino effect of impacting nearby components in such a closely packed environment. And once the pump motor inside fails, the laptop will render useless since the cooling system no longer operates to cool the system.
It will be a big headache for users to run back and forth RMA service and a nightmare to them once it is out of warranty. Having a hybrid traditional air cooling + external water cooling kit as innovated by ASUS is a very great solution that mitigate the problem. hough the kit is a very bulky unit. Hopefully they can slim it down much more with future revisions.
