Frankly speaking, I didn't even bother to click or check the leaderboard before any warning or infraction. Neither do I need to check anything as I'm not interested to know the reward as well. :)

To me, controversy is part of the game, nothing seriously wrong. I don't see the need to clear any name nor attempt to do so as long as fellow members adhere to forums TOS.

Regarding gribber, nothing to do with cheat or not, I don't consider posting of emoticon only as cheat within or outside of this thread but as nuisance replies instead. HWC will never become EDMW as both forums catered for different users.

Rules are clearly stated in HWC for one liner posting or any attempt to turn HWC into EDMW. Whoever posting nuisance reply will get warning or infraction.

Hopes I cleared the air. :)

Thanks Commach for the wise pointers. True since i also didn't do anything guilty at all, I don't think i should hung up too much on it any more. It has probably become my (bad i guess) habit to explain and prove my innocence every time others made accusations about me. I simply hate that kind of maligned feeling. I'm also the kind who can't just keep quiet and close my eyes when knowing something going wrong/bad around me. But it has also made some to think that i am explaining out of guilt and hence the misunderstandings. I guess i am all good. Cheers! :)

When i google Dell XPS 17, seems like there is such a product but its available only overseas. Singapore store only have Dell XPS 13 and 15.

Most importantly must have dedicated graphic card.. Intel HD cant do much.

Ya it should be the older design XPS17, waiting for them to update to new infinity edge design. There is also new xps12, it is to go up against the surface book. Also not in Singapore yet.

That will be great if hey amalgamate such design language into their own Alienware line of laptops. I don't mind having thicker laptop but having high screen/size ratio is definitely cool!

Ya thinking of alienware 18 with infinity bezel, and the same thick base dual fan intake, then Dell can sli 970m for ultimate thin top, fat bottom alienware !

Guess u prob need to learn to let go ba.:)

Since Commach could have p-banned him but gave him a second chance in HWZ, I guess we have to respect his decision of giving Gribber a second chance. Frankly speaking, even after this episode, I hold no grudges against him, I was merely addressing the posts and not the person behind those posts. But since old habits die hard, in the event that after the t-ban Gribber tries to get back at us (like what he did with nanochan1), then only do we report him to the mods and let the mods take action. By digging deeper into the episode to hunt for evidence to clear your name simply invites Gribber to avenge for his lost 'pride' when he gets back the account, and robs him of the second chance to abide by the forum etiquette and blend back in with the rest of the HWC community.

It's a tough decision to make, but under these circumstances, letting the matter rest and not stirring it further would be a wiser choice to make. :)

Cheers :)

kimsix, you still have chance for Dell Bluetooth speaker if you don't really want the voucher. However, you really need to earn at least 15 bonus points (or 5 quality posts) to achieve that, since without it you can only earn up to 787 points by Sunday morning. :)

Yeah :s22:

nowadays laptop following mobile phone.. slim and thin laptop but non removable battery.. now even the components inside also solder on :(

Is this the trend for ultrabooks like Dell XPS 13 ? Hopefully the regular laptops will remain the same.

Boss here hates the non removable battery part. Why can't they let us do what we want. The old macbook use to allow people to remove the battery and now we can't. Not sure about other brands, but we would assume it is the same? :s11:

But one thing we are glad is that the situation never really got out of hand.

And people kept reminding one another what we are looking out for and help one another.

This gimmie is not just about the prizes but also sharing knowledge :) That's why hammering people is the last resort we want to take because it just damages the atmosphere here.

One question:

if you guys have an XPS 13 right now, what would you do with it? Is there anything you would want to change (eg. hardware)? and what are your concerns.

Hi boss, my concern is Dell should have more option to have 16gb of ram since XPS is billed as a professional productivity laptops. Dell can used ddr4 if the concern that additional ram will suck more battery as ddr4 is more efficient.

Another area for the next version is to have Intel iris or iris pro gpu for more grunt graphica work and some help to apps that can use gpu acceleration.

Another wish is to have a all in one docking station through usb3.1 that function as extended battery with numpad and even an external cuda gpu. This can extend the XPS ultrabook to beyond ultrabook class performance when you are using it at home or office, MS and Apple calls their ultrabook/tablet as laptop replacements, Dell can join in the fray

This may need to increase the size of xps laptop, so I suggest to the next XPS should xps14, since the infinity edge screen cuts down the wasteful bezel space, Dell can still compete in making the most compact ultrabook.

I am of opinion, this is business decision.

Based on my past experiences with laptops that have removable batteries, the battery can really last. From business POV, make no sense to manufacture such battery pack and resulting in storage cost and e-waste when model goes obsolete since it is usually device-specific? Not sure what is the recycling prospective for such battery pack.

Moreover with dell coming up with power companion which is suited for a number of devices, its make more sense to go for non-removable battery.

Btw boss, have dell replied on the warranty for the prizes?

Sad man, went to redeem 24" monitor on Tuesday, no stock and dell claimed that they will send to me but up to now no news... :(

but somehow non removal battery seems to last much longer. previous laptops i have, with removal battery, after a few years, the battery totally failed. cannot even last more than an hour.

and if xps 13 like it said, can last 18 hours, i think not a problem.

Saw this last last night; in next few days time, Dell will have some Pre Sitex sale at Funan Mall branch.

Something like free MS 365 or buy this with special price. :)
