Maybe I WOLS, but anybody else got their OTA Lollipop update on their G Pro 2? I was surprised when I was prompted by an update notice, indicated update size was about 627mb, figured it was a lollipop update so I went for it. Now styling with my G Pro 2 on OS5 Lollipop 5.0.1

Welcome to the yummy Lollopop!

The same gang here, went for the upgrade without much
hesitation, now enjoying Lollipop 5.0.1 and discovering its
new interface as compared to the previous KitKat.

I nearly want to revert back because of its battery
consumption, but brother Kelvinti advised me not to look
back but to go forward. Since I got an extra battery,
so I shouldn't worry too much.

Good phone

Welcome brother, seasoned user of Pro 2 will not deny
it is the pearl of the orient, while LG is not wanting to
boast about it.

Wait patiently for the next version of Pro 2, it can "wow"
the serious competitors at large. :s22::s13:

I like everything about Lollipop ! It is totally a very refreshing UI after being with KitKat / Jelly Bean UIs for so long! :s22:

No way back to KitKat now and no regret! Enjoy the Lollipop! :)

Having used Lollipop on G Pro 2 for a few days now, I still find the battery life to be significantly worse than when I was on Kit Kat. Perhaps my battery is now older, but I find that on idle overnight the battery level dropped by around 15%. A 100% battery now will probably last me about half a day, as compared to easily a full day when I was on Kit Kat.

Another upgrade I don't quite like about Lollipop is its sound profiles. In the Do Not Disturb mode, there is a further differentiation between Do Not Disturb - Silent and Do Not Disturb - Priority, if you forget to choose Priority, alarms in (Do Not Disturb - Silent) go off without sound or vibration. Personally I find this to be less intuitive than compared to Kit Kat.

If you can live with the poorer battery life, the OS upgrade itself is indeed better.

Noted that my battery drained a tad faster than with KK, but love the Lollipop interface. I've actually been using Lollipop on my Asus ZF2 for a while now, so quite used to the Lollipop interface. With Android OS, I always move forward w/o looking back.....gotta go with the flow!:D

I agreed with you.

Yes. still wanna try to root and flash Custom roms :p

There are things that still puzzled me, like rooting the device.
Being new to all these terms, can anyone explain the benefits
of rooting the phone.

While in KitKat people also want to root the phone and now
in Lollipop the same need is required.

There must be some unique advantage of rooting the
phone even though it is quite a tough job for newbies and
even to understand its purpose.

Kindly share your thoughts on the purpose and
benefits of rooting the phone. Many thanks in advance.

Has anyone else noticed this? With KK, I sometimes plug in my G Pro 2 to my notebook to charge overnight while I have it on playing videos (helps me sleep). By morning, the G Pro 2 would have a full charge and that's just peachy. Now, with Lollipop, I left my G Pro 2 plugged in to my 2nd HTPC while watching videos. It was at about 15%, that was when I recalled seeing the power saving mode kick in, imagine my surprise this morning when I unplugged the handphone to find that it only has 3% left.

Did you perform a factory reset after upgrade?

My gf Pro 2 suddenly hit by the battery charging crap last night. It failed to charge. So, I did a factory reset for her and the charging is back to normal now.

The battery charging issue in Lollipop is very likely to pop up anytime if you did not perform a factory reset in some cases.

That's why I did factory reset it right after upgrade. My Pro 2 has no issue with battery so far since last Tuesday.
