M8 4MP camera. G3 13MP camera. No need to think.

i think it really depends on how much money you have also.

the m8's still priced much higher than the g3 itself.

Besides, i've heard that the 4Mp camera is still usable for web/fb uses. Just that for hardcore photo editing junkies who photoshop every of their mobile image, then the G3 would be a better phone for them.

Don't worry. This is not Samsung software upgrade which normally makes things worst. LG g3 software upgrade is pretty fine so far.

oh well.. the updater detected my phone is rooted so banned me from upgrading. so much for that idea.. I know I can upgrade via the LG software but it's a bigger hassle

Actually I find the saturation, sharpness, exposure and colour fidelity on the m8 camera is better than G3 when I tested them side by side. Especially if you take indoor shots more often, G3 simply cannot match, whether 13mp, ois or laser AF or not.

Unless u always print out more than 8R size prints all the time, 4MP is more than enough. Except for pixel peepers who only enjoy the photos taken by sitting behind a computer screen and look at them 100% zoomed in to find pimples on friends faces.

Megapixels war is over my friend. Having higher megapixel does not mean its better. Just like a 1.6L turbo charged engine on F1 cars can beat any supercars with gigantic engines.

thank you for your honest feedback bro.

still torn between the m8 and the g3.. dont know which one to choose.

and wouldnt the spigen armor add additional bulk to the 5.5 inch g3 already?

LG | Cases and Screen Protectors for LG G3 by Spigen | Spigen

Nope. The spigen slim armour is pretty slim. HTC One M8 or LG G3, you should try them out before deciding. Actually I like the M8 design, but I hate HTC for putting the ultra pixel 4Mp camera there. It stopped me from buying it. I know some people say about quality and stuff, but I think you need at least 8Mp to quantify that.

I have both the m8 and g3.

If u intend to get g3, be sure to check it out carefully at the shops before buying. Yes, it is better in every possible specs you can find but make sure your hands are comfortable in using the large 5.5" screen. Its with minimum bezels but still handling a large screen is not easy. Also, I find it is a bit too sharp to my liking, tends to tire my eyes easily after using for more than 10 minutes.

If really comparing to m8, I find m8 a better phone to use as a daily driver. Its UI is way smoother (even faster and smoother than stock KK), its camera seems to capture faster and the smaller screen is more manageable and honestly I don't find the QHD screen of g3 has any advantage over the FHD of m8 by normal usage. Of course unless if I look at the screen with my nose touching it, maybe I can see pixels then.

Just simple comparison of opening built in stock apps like phone, message, chrome and gallery side by side, the m8 wins hands down. It has no hesitation at all while g3 seems to need 0.5 or 1s to think before executing the task you throw at it.

Yea, the M8 is a pretty darn good phone. Metal built and love that speed and screen size. However, I rather have a smaller footprint for a 5" screen. I think the boomSound is over-rated for a phone. I need one loud speaker. No stereo needed (the G3 fits the bill). And one major flaw *imho* is the positioning of the power button.
The phone is extraordinarily tall, and yet the power is situated on top. Just look at what Apple did to their IP6. They shifted their power button from top to side. I feedbacked to HTC and they acknowledged it. Lets see how the M9 fares :)

Why no need to think?

That's a horrible comparison especially since it's two different imaging technology.

I have used the M7 before. While the photo quality is good enough, the 4MP makes it impossible to see more details. Also, the HDR is quite bad, always over-exposed in brighter areas.

In today's world, 4MP is really too little. It may be good for web posting, but 10 yrs down the road, when you take out the photos to relive the memory, you will sort of regret it.

ok lor, i told myself 4MP is more than enough if the photo quality is good, when I own the M7. Then I realize I am kidding myself. Hope you come to your senses soon.

Metal feels good, but it is slippery and gets scratched very easily. Need to use a case to protect it. So in the end, what good is the metal when one cannot feel it?

In my opinion, android phones need to have battery to be removable. Because they tend to blackout with buttons unable to work. Happens to me for Samsung, LG, Sony or any other android phones...

I think someone asked if the G3 requires the normal 8hrs charge before using it but I can't seem to find the reply/replies for that post. So I'm asking again and hope someone will be nice to answer me :D

I'm gonna get a G3 soon and need some lobangs for the accessories. I'm keen to get a red snap/quick circle cover at a low price & tempered glass with installation (pm or reply me with the total cost!)

Modern devices that use LiOn batteries do not need to do this step anymore. Just use immediately. But I also see no harm if you want to charge it first.

i just try out using Oppo Find7 to play brave frontier, so far no problem at all.. So what i think is the g3 software not stable at all..

Oppo find 7 so far run very SMOOTH compare to g3..

sucks that i need to off everything and set everything to low for it to be the least stable while my previous phone note 3 can handle it fine....:(
