I get 5 hrs on average, which is pretty good. I'm using spigen armour case.

depends on how you use it really. i get slightly less than a day on a full charge

anyone bought a replacement battery?

thank you for your honest feedback bro.

still torn between the m8 and the g3.. dont know which one to choose.

and wouldnt the spigen armor add additional bulk to the 5.5 inch g3 already?

i remember the thickness being 1.5cm on the brochure which is the same as another case i got off ebay and that case was very bulky. one plus about the spigen is that it is curved so you probably wont feel the bulk as much as my ebay one which has a flat bottom.

and to those people who say 4mp is enough, i dont think you have exported the photos to a 1080p monitor.

2mp is the same number of pixels as 1080p so in theory a 4mp 100% crop is zooming in 2x on a 1080p screen.

4mp is also close to the number of pixels on the G3's screen (3.7mp) so if the G3 was paired with a 4mp camera you dont need to zoom in to see 100% :s13:

while i completely agree that image quality is the more important than the number of pixels, for people who do post processing and cropping the added pixels gives you some leeway. and im not talking about those super pro photographers sitting infront of their 27 inch 100% color gamut screens, im talking about people who take photos and want to upload to insta or other social media only realising their shot was not cropped properly.

8mp is scraping thru
13mp is average
20mp is too much?

Of course it depends. For average usage, it is good enough to last through a day, as what most has reviewed. If you are playing games throughout, hardly any phone can last a day. :s13:

Modern devices that use LiOn batteries do not need to do this step anymore. Just use immediately. But I also see no harm if you want to charge it first.

I think someone asked if the G3 requires the normal 8hrs charge before using it but I can't seem to find the reply/replies for that post. So I'm asking again and hope someone will be nice to answer me :D

I'm gonna get a G3 soon and need some lobangs for the accessories. I'm keen to get a red snap/quick circle cover at a low price & tempered glass with installation (pm or reply me with the total cost!)

Proper way of using every new phone,
Use the battery till 20-30% range.
Charge until full. Rinse and repeat.
Don't let your battery drop below 20 if possible.

Battery expert friend told me.

In my opinion, android phones need to have battery to be removable. Because they tend to blackout with buttons unable to work. Happens to me for Samsung, LG, Sony or any other android phones...

just hold the power button...

Yea, the M8 is a pretty darn good phone. Metal built and love that speed and screen size. However, I rather have a smaller footprint for a 5" screen. I think the boomSound is over-rated for a phone. I need one loud speaker. No stereo needed (the G3 fits the bill). And one major flaw *imho* is the positioning of the power button.
The phone is extraordinarily tall, and yet the power is situated on top. Just look at what Apple did to their IP6. They shifted their power button from top to side. I feedbacked to HTC and they acknowledged it. Lets see how the M9 fares :)

huh what did they do to the ip6? haven even announced yet :s22:

Got my G3 this way. Including my Rakuten points accmuluated from previous purchases I paid slightly less than $600 for the phone. Damn good deal. No problems with delivery, ordered on Tuesday evening delivered on Thursday afternoon. Selfie monopod and some nobrand screen protector free.

Rakuten has 20% off storewide every now and then, that particular store (The Mobile Hub) has other models for sale as well. Good deal if you are looking for a phone without contract.

sounds good. can consider shopping on rakuten next time. :s22:

it is on now =)
20% @ rakuten

Actually I find the saturation, sharpness, exposure and colour fidelity on the m8 camera is better than G3 when I tested them side by side. Especially if you take indoor shots more often, G3 simply cannot match, whether 13mp, ois or laser AF or not.

Unless u always print out more than 8R size prints all the time, 4MP is more than enough. Except for pixel peepers who only enjoy the photos taken by sitting behind a computer screen and look at them 100% zoomed in to find pimples on friends faces.

Megapixels war is over my friend. Having higher megapixel does not mean its better. Just like a 1.6L turbo charged engine on F1 cars can beat any supercars with gigantic engines.

The whole point of ultrapixel is to be absolutely the BEST in terms of day & night shots because consumers have to accept a very big compromise in terms of megapixels (4MP is so 2009) but if it's going to fare the worst in a modern smartphone camera shootout then what's the point?

No doubt ultrapixel has some advantages in terms of night shots but the difference isn't really that great from the other non-ultrapixel cameras, so the compromise is too large to make it worth people's while to change to this.

Just to carry on your car analogy,at least you can bring a supercar on public roads, and it's more practical. Some got boot, can ferry at least 2 people, can park properly in a lot etc. Yes the F1 car is better on track, but in day to day usage on the public roads, it's totally crippled.

Did you root ? I only manage to have 2-3 hours, using stock. Can share your setting trick ?

No root. Default OS. Basically on 3G. Only using WhatsApp, no other messaging apps like Line, wechat etc. Usage is mainly email, some photo, YouTube, phone calls, messaging, mainly on Internet, not much gaming.

Anyone using G3 on singtel signal? Or does your phone have the voLTE option?

Yes. VoLTE option appeared after upgrading to V10i software.

Don't understand what the fuss is all about though, with VoLTE turned on, I don't hear any difference in call sound quality. Didn't notice big difference in connection speed too...it didn't take that long connect previously anyway.

Maybe need both parties to be on VoLTE then will hear a difference?

it just rakuten had 20% storewide for all orders.

The pic is all over the net. The power button is now at the right side, just like the Samsung galaxies. This ain't no rumour pic. Spigen also has pics of their case which shows this trait :)

I used to have the m7 and it was able to take photos in situations where the other phone just had a black screen (n5) . I think the point is the image quality is good enough for a majority of situations for most people for hp picture use cases
