Go for black if want those clean slate feel.

But the gold accent on speaker grill at the top and the minimalistic rim around the display really does make the gold version slightly more "interesting".

if you want that, i suggest you get a nexus 5

True. Right now the G2 is already at its fastest it can be running stock rom, rooted and Dorimanx kernel. The G3 will eventually be able to be rooted with custom kernel. Cant wait for Dorimanx to start working on the custom kernel. It is just like butter smooth.

Settings --> General --> Accessibility --> Reduce Motion

enable reduce motion

just tried it on a friend's phone. still have a lot of frivolous animation esp in the Settings page. Then again it's Reduce Motion, not Turn Off Motion.

but it's a step in the right direction.

So far I have encountered zero lag on my M8 over 2 months of usage, despite whatever tasks or games I threw at it. It is so smooth and slick that makes my brother's 5s looks laggy and slow.

Now that I have preordered the G3, I am still loving the M8 which probably will be my backup phone since I cant find any reasons to sell it away.
