Based on the F7a vs the new demo sets at comcentre, I'd say colorOS is still faster at 2.3GHz compared to LG at 2.5Ghz.

Poor optimization is the mark of LG phones. :s13: Seriously, most of their phones are marred by poor OS optimization.

It can be done...copy the whole Whatsapp directory into the new phone after you have backed up. Then install the whatsapp app in the new phone and during installing there will be an option to restore, use that. It will work.

ya that's right, as in the snappiness of the UI, like how fast the Settings page appears after I click it. I've set both phones to zero animations and transitions so it's a fair comparison.

I think the demo sets don't justify the phone capabilities leh. I'm using the 3gb variant, the one on demo is 2gb.mine is much more snappy

Definitely agreed in general, demo sets are not a good gauge of UI response.

The only mitigating point is the demo set I tried with is quite a new set because I went to test on the 1st couple of days it was put up, so I'd assume it's not been abused by hundreds of people before. And I also checked the gallery and it's totally empty so either the sales promoters are so on to delete the gallery every night or it's really a virgin demo set. And I also cleared all the recent apps first to ensure nothing running in the background.

So the question is since you have a proper G3, have you tried a F7a side by side with your G3 to gauge on the snappiness of the UI? For all u know, your experience might be totally different from mine.

Just to let you know, the set you all are feeling in stores are definitely not Virgin sets. They are the same set used for launch event in may, and maybe some other events. I have also witness the UI before they loaded and after they loaded the demo video. (the one where it plays video when no one is using the phone) it makes a lot of difference.

I do not have a find 7a to compare, but I compared it with my nexus 5 with both running on ART. They have comparable results.

How to convert from Dalvik to ART on the G3? Like this?

I'm still on dalvik on most of my devices.
Heard some apps are not compatible to ART. Are most of the apps supported right now?

Are there any chargers that allows you charge a spare battery and the phone at the same time?

Don't need to switch over so fast. Give it a year or so after the next google conference then switch over.

so it's the demo video that's causing the lag? ok that's interesting. If it's as smooth as a nexus 5 then it is really very good. Because I've also flashed AOSP on my F7a and it really flies in terms of speed...
