I think this method of producing back covers is more viable, as there are -

- less chances of it denting if you drop it as compared to a metal case
- less weight, definitely
- and most importantly, less cost (hopefully)

Another + point is that (assuming, based on Sammysung style ) that you will be able to swap different coloured covers once available. If you get a black unit, easily can mix-and-match any one of the 5 or more colours in the future. Just my personal opinion.

totally agree! will get a black... next time get a violet back.
