I used the G3 for about 2 mths plus already, got it when it first launched.

No hardware problems so far everything working great.

Software-wise, got some minor issues. Sometimes tapping the recent apps button will show that there are no apps running in the background, and have to re-tap the button 2 or 3 times before the recent apps will show up. Besides that, the phone also has lag and stutter, but nowhere as bad as my old Samsung S4.

Totally agree. Sometimes I wish the bootloader of the phone would be unlocked so that we can flash AOSP on it and I'll bet it'll be super fast.

Does anyone on G2 remember if the G2 bootloader was locked when it first came out too?

I prefer to get from a reputable seller for a slightly higher price.

Got my F460 from 28mobile.com. That being said, the F460 comes with a 805 SoC, a better Adreno GPU and LTE-A which is useful for Singtel users. Also, it comes with a charging cradle and an extra battery since it's a Korean model.

Really recommend 28mobile.com. Personalised service and the staff are very helpful and prompt in their response.

Does the LTE-A for KT/SKT work in Singapore? Can you put up a screenshot with LTE-A speeds? LTE might work, but it will not reach LTE-A speeds from what I remember from the way LTE A works...

LTE-A here will concurrently use bands 3 & 7 as far as i'm aware, at least for Singtel.

SingTel to launch 300Mbps 4G Service on 23 August with Samsung Galaxy S5 4G+, AsiaOne Digital News

The F460K, F460S & F460L all support bands B3 and B7 for LTE as far as i'm aware.

Mobile-LG G3 F460 LTE-A Cat. 6 intensify version F460S F460K black -

Both this phone and the Samsung Galaxy S5 4G+ (launched by Singtel for LTE-A) sport the same SoC (Snapdragon 805).

Singtel combines 20 mhz of Bands 3 & 7 for LTE-A - LTE Advanced - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia <--- Search for Singtel

4G LTE FAQs and Support | SingTel - Look at answer to item 4 under 4G support.

Singtel 4G and 4G+ have overlapping speeds from the 20 to 70 Mbps range. True 4G+ is only achieved in certain locations and depending on network latency from 70 Mbps onwards.

PS : The F460S works perfectly with LTE too since it supports both bands B3 and B7 which is used by Telcos here. I also have no auto-reboot issues.

Wasn't that hard to root g2. Still a great phone for rooting.

Thanks bro plsdunbiteme. My mobile plan just got eligible for upgrade and I was quite interested with the G3. The design of it made it look so desirable but I didn't know how was the phone. Had heard from many people that the phone had issues but didn't know what kind of issues were it. Would also like to ask if its worth to switch to the G3?

Actually alot of the lag and stutter is gone with the 10i firmware. Some people have reported the auto shutdown issues but I would assume with the batch youre going to buy, it should be fine. Just make sure you update to the 10i firmware. Its a massive improvement in speed. Only reason for the G3 is the camera and screen. Not much else for anything else.

Does the recent firmware 10i i guess, improved the battery life? Previously it was so bad that i was forced to sell within few weeks.

It definitely isnt better than the previous firmwares but I get by a day of use with my usage so thats fine.

This sounds like a negative factor to me.
I am currently still considering whether should I get the G3 or Note 4.

I am using Note 2 now for almost coming 2 years and the battery life is getting terrible based on my daily usage (whatsapp, calls, emails, facebook and some net surfing). Sometime it can be so bad that it can even reach about 40% or lesser by mid day. I suspect this deteriorating battery life is due to the lifespan of the battery? or perhaps due to my charging habits? I tend to charge the battery whenever I have access to the charger even though my phone still has a relatively healthy level of batt juice.

Therefore, i need a phone that has a better battery life. Of course I can always carry an additional battery with me, but I am trying to find something that can last longer.

not talking about rooting. it's also very easy to root the g3. I'm talking about the bootloader..very different from rooting...

pretty sure the note4 will have more batt life than g3. I even think the note 3 has more batt life than g3, by maybe 10% based on my gut feel. but the g3 is no slouch, should be able to last a full day and the standby time is superb.

by the way, if u're the type to use yr phones for more than a year, don't charge till 100% all the time, charge to 80% or 90%, then yr batt can last longer with more cycles.

I guess amoled displays need less power. You will realised the background for most menu displays are mainly black for Samsung amoled phones . . .

Personally, I think G3 is a very good phone. I own Xperia Z2, iphone and S4 in the past, and imo the G3 is the best among these. I can live with the occasional stutter and lag so its not a big prob for me. But I know friends who are totally allergic to lag and thus this could be a deal-breaker for them. Depends on whether you consider this an 'issue' or not.

But for the relatively cheap prize compared to other flagships, you get fantastic screen, one of the best hp camera (as good as the Xperia Z2), lots of good features like the IR remote and knock-on, good build quality and top of the line specs. Very good package worth buying imo.
