twlee88 i think you better call them again for second opinion because im pretty sure they can and will fallback on the IMEI number to register warranty on 1st visit if you have no receipt because that is literally what my service guy did, both when I was a LG customer and a Sony customer.
And pure common sense even dictates that there is no way your warranty could be 'up' yet because the G4 isnt 1 year old. Every G4 on the market right now doesnt hit 1 year old till the end of May 2016.
If the person serving your case wanna play hardball and refuse to honour warranty without a receipt, I think you can call in to complain already. The receipt thing exists mainly to prove that you got the phone at a later date than the manufacture date, which lets them set the warranty window to better match your ownership period of the phone.
Honestly, LG isn't playing nice here. In the first place, they could check if it's local set and why give their own customers such a hard time when it has announced bootloop issues. In fact, they should honor every single g4 manufactured by them.
This is also part of my worry for getting LG phone coz I called them last year to ask about buying a used g4 from online sellers like carousell, the cso told me no transfer of ownership for warranty. This is totally ridiculous and I did not proceed to buy, which is a blessing in disguise for the notorious bootloop months later.
Feel sad for twlee88. But I think you should insist on them to repair your phone foc since they are the ones passing down all these problems to consumers in less than 1year. Even when I send in my lousy xiaomi for a small repair, the cso didn't ask for any warranty but just check the phone imei only as the phone isn't 1year yet. Heard Samsung and Apple are the same. What's so special about LG?
Guys, I have a bad feeling that LG will not honor your bootloop issues after your 1ye warranty is up from how i see it now...

gotta warn 3 of my friends using g4 as they're not the first batch of 505
