Anyone got their phone fixed for free without warranty? My g4 was stucked in boot loop previously but have corrosion on the motherboard and lg fixed it for free anyway but they said this will be my last warranty repair. 3 months later boot loop hits again..
If it is still within warranty period, there's no way they can wriggle out.

Otherwise, you will have to go hard ball and just insist G4 inherent problem!

I just went to the service center this morning. It is already full of people.. LOL. All having issue with G4.. I bet LG can't wait for the warranty to expires. They created this mess and they are not able to fix it once and for all.

hmm, wouldn't pasting a screen protector affect image quality as well?

Had similar issues with my G2 previously - Ar coatings were coming off too easily as well - replaced it myself too - slightly annoying since the G2 requires a plastic tool to get all clips off it's back.

What I did next was try to remove the AR coating from the previous lens cover - did it with tooth paste! :zotto: - this way you can save your costs on getting replacements! :)

i doubt the screen protector would compromise quality to that degree

anyway i asked the LG service centre and they said replacing it isnt covered by warranty as it is 'cosmetic issue' so i have no choice but to continue to rely on buying my own replacements

We have got a few that had to go for mb replacement twice liao...waiting for the unlucky one to have to undergo a third replacement, no impossible from what I read so far...

Anybody's G4 screen has a dent..?

XCCFfxJ.jpg

It's an air bubble where the glass SP can't adhere to the screen.

I've tried 2 different glass SPs, both has this issue, can confirm there's no dirt underneath the SP, so it must be an issue with my glass.
Anything I can do about it?

thanks, I have seen their website, selling price is quite high (65SGD).
I saw some parts for half the price on aliexpress in the meantime

I bought 1 plastic white one from taobao.. Came up to around $22 after shipping.
If u want, there are some blue and pink leather ones on carousell where people got it as a freebie then they're just selling it off.

yeah to fix the bootloop. mine is not really bootloop, it's more like it'll get stuck at booting and then the phone will just 'power off'

I see.

I'm thinking of getting the other variant, dual LTE one.

Not sure the same bootloop issue persists with the dual LTE variant... Scary....

if you want to have peace of mind, i think you should avoid getting lg g4 lol.
they're being quite irresponsible at settling this issue. they should recall the products if there are manufacturing defects that can't be eliminated.

s6 dual sim or s7 will be an better option i think.

Problem is I want a Dual LTE with removable battery! Super heavy usage and on the go user here! Powerbank is not a good alternative for me too! :(

So...delima...! :o

my brother's s7 edge seems to have about twice the screen on time of my lg g4. so i guess it's somehow sufficient if you're using about 2 batteries for g4 / day. the downside is that you'll probably have to pay the service fee to change the battery in the future. And of course, the s7 edge is much more expensive.

but it's really worth it for the peace of mind i guess. what's the point of having removable battery if your phone is dead? saw some folks here who used g4 as their main camera and their g4 died when they were travelling.

additional info: anyway saw a girl today in the service center with white g4 (which i assume is the dual lte version) sending her phone in for bootloop issue.

Ya! You have got the point.

I am thinking. If I heng heng gotten a bootloop set... But if I can sent it to repair once to fix it, then it will not be a bad idea at all to get the G4 Dual then...

Why aren't u considering the V10? Dual sim, removable batt and a large screen which am assuming, u may like judging from your previous posts.. Moreover, no bootloop issue.. thus far. If only they had a slightly smaller version of the V10 without compromising on the features I'd get it.

Just sent my G4 (S/N: 508) in yesterday on the boot loop issue... lees than 6 mth old

They initially don't want to honor the warranty cos found SuperSU app installed. They said I rooted the phone.
Argued with CS that the app was installed via Google Play (not unauthorized) to check on "root" status due to GO Battery Saver need root access to disable Data Mobile when screen is off. Phone was never rooted.
I'm a former Xperia user and wanted the Stamina feature.
After CS consulted the supervisor and their technician, they honor the warranty and will replace the motherboard (S$300+).

They will try to make you pay if you have root related files. If rooted, then they will definitely void unless you wanna play the lengthy legal game with them. Their service centre objective is to earn revenue by voiding warranty. Better asked them to show their display for the parts pricing as the price quoted are not consistent. Wonder if they are outsourced?
