So sold on the lg v20. Pretty certain i would replace my g4 with that cos of the removable battery and sd card. I hate amoled screen cos of their perma burn in.

Hopefully my g4 last till the v20 been out for a good 6 months, enough time to see if the v20 still includes the bootloop feature.

Same here! Looking forward to V20 but my contract only up Feb 17. Hopefully V20 still available at telcos.

errr...so v20e is good for upgrade?
Like not much noticeable difference for me. Battery life and performance about the same as previously. I didn't notice any new features also.

Anyone know if LG g4 earpiece is under warranty??

Mine suddenly left side not working. Tried using it on laptop also left side no sound.

If not under warranty where can I get an original set?

Warranty period should be 6 months from date of purchase.
Hmm, Quad beats are found on online sites such as Qoo10, Carousell etc.

Though I would probably get something else instead - Ajays maybe?

tried v20e SEA

the dealbreaker problem I had in previous v20 versions (i.e. SD card write access issues for 3rd party apps) is still present. every 3rd party camera app i use to take photos and save to SD card, the files all appear as 0kb when viewed on PC. every 3rd party file manager that does any form of write to SD, all the files they create are unviewable on PC, unviewable on LG airdrive, unviewable unless i remove the SD card from the phone and plug back into my PC.

Ive taken up this issue with LG before (in March), their response is that they cant guarantee that 3rd party apps will 'work', just like how they cant guarantee 3rd party chargers wont have the phantom input issue on those new LCDs

im frankly still amazed no one using MM on a G4 has raised this issue before. Does everyone literally use only the stock LG apps (or they dont have a microSD in their phone)? This problem is too major to not have been detected by other users. In fact when I was at the LG service centre I demonstrated the issue on their G4, not my own, to prove my point.

i dont know about other users but i need my 3rd party apps, and i need my SD card and I need the PC to be able to read the files that those apps create on the SD card

the irony is the G5, which my parent owns, also runs MM and has no such trouble

Let me guess.. It is obviously a LG issue.. If they dont break the ROM on G4, there is no reason for their fans to upgrade to G5! Maybe try to email their CEO to see if he is free to help! I bet he is busy counting his money in the bank!

MM is supposed to have better battery life than LP. LG G4 MM update is a freaking joke! Take it or leave it..

General update of sorts.

Had the bootloop issue about a month back and changed the motherboard. Count me as one of the unlucky owners.

I noticed recently that the image retention burn in has been worse lately. It's especially noticeable when I pull down the notification panel. I just passed my 12 month mark, so to be honest I am a little disappointed in the quality. Who knows what will happen in the next few months.

Did the v20e update last week. No change to battery life but apps are taking a little longer to load. Did a restart and still the same. I would rather not perform a reset, PITA to backup everything.

My G4 died yesterday. 2 mths after warranty expired.
No $ to buy a branded flagship phone without contract.
May get a redmi note3 instead.

Ya. Redmi Note 3 3/32 should be good at that price range.

Make sure that you either get the Pro version (Indian export set) or local warranty version in which both versions are powered by Snapdragon chip and with Global rom pre loaded.

Of coz, unless that you know how to flash a China rom (China export set) to Global rom. Then, you can get China export set with Snapdragon chip and not MediaTek chip.

$189 export set from smart cell.
