i just got back my lg g4 that i sent to the service center last week.

they change the motherboard and the screen or the whole phone since some of the dent made by me is gone and some screen scratches (mine is not bootloop issue..just screen autoclicking).

now still checking on the phone..apparently the warm issues still there although they fix the auto-clicking stuff.

its android 6.0 and V20c-sea-xx..

Is your autoclicking sort of like sometimes the screen will by itself have random input action, despite not being physically touched?

Because ever since my phone changed display I think I may have something like that, the symptom is random screen input being registered spontaneously on its own (touches and swipes all over the place), the funny thing is, it only happens when the phone is plugged into a fast charger (im using those valore fast charger from Challenger) and I cant replicate the problem on a standard 5v 1.5A charger

So last week, my wife's G4 died on her... And guess what, mine died today... So I have to call M1 to send my contract to me, which will take 3 days for them to do it... Then I can go over to LG to get my phone fixed...:mad: The technician actually told my wife that we dont need to bring the contract over but when I called, they said its company procedure... So, for those that dont have their contracts with you, get it in case... So much sian... Oh FYI, we bought it from M1 nex on 31st May 2015...

my autoclicking issues is waay worse. it happen when the screen brightness is adjust to high..it will autoclick everything and jump here and there..sometime its just totally not usable. the screen will also have faint display discoloration..become purpleish..

only when the brightness adjusted to 0 the phone is usable..

so far the lg g4 i got back still ok with no problem (touch wood). hopefully can last till my contract ends...:s22::s22:

As a advice..pls check ur hp once collected...run all apps that commonly use..mine once collected..send back in after 10mins..

cant do much check there as all apps are gone..so far so good...

any bros here got good screen protector to introduce or not?

main consideration is not blocking the sensor and anti fingerprints...

During this year's CNY, you should see the look on my cousin's face when I told her G4 was at risk of boot loop . She was happily showing off her phone during reunion dinner.

Didn't you get your contract when you re-contracted/started a new contract? Lost yours? As I mentioned previously, always scan all these docs for safe keeping purpose.

Now that im back from work i finally got to analysing my screen issue, trying to find a reliable way to replicate the issue so I can demo to the LG staff.

1. it only manifests while the phone is plugged into a fast charger. have tried with normal charger and while unplugged, and it doesnt have issue

2. the symptoms is that when there is touch input, after a while, the screen starts to register random input that doesnt match your finger

I have this short clip where literally all I did is power on the phone and touch the middle dot in the pattern unlock screen, and leave my finger motionless on the middle dot. Watch and see what happens:
- URL removed -

That one isnt so easily reproducible though, so I plan to demo this on site (in addition to showing videos of all the time i replicated the problem here at home):
1. plug phone into a fast charger. I will bring 2 of my own to demo
2. open the phone's app drawer
3. move finger in a circular motion. the app drawer will scroll up and down
4. stop moving and keep finger motionless.
5. the app drawer wont be motionless. it will have slight jerky motion of up and down scrolling nonstop. And sometimes the more severe symptom will hit where crazy random stuff like the notifications being pulled down, apps getting launched by themselves etc

For me now the problem has become a genuine hassle as my charger at home and office are both valore Fast Charger from challenger and this input inconsistency is making me fail my pattern unlock nearly half the time.

The funny thing is LG on Monday called me to follow up an asked if my LCD replacement (which was done last Wed) was in order, and I already highlighted to them this fishy behaviour of the replacement display.

So, 4th visit to service centre within a 4-month period (bootloop, cam replacement, LCD replacement, LCD replacement...again?). I wish they have a points system like frequent flier miles (this one can be frequent failure) because I will earn a lot

Didn't loose mine... Didn't ask for my contract at that point of time as it was all done via online at m1...

Anyways, got mine fixed after calling them up so many times... But just in case, get your contract beforehand... Queue wasn't long and took them about half an hour to swap the mobo...

You should make them do a phone replacement. How can there be so many issues in such short period and also the inconveniences.

Interesting, didn't know contract done via online got no contract copy, which does not make any sense to me, since we should accept the contract T&C, but accepting without a contract. Should have questioned their system in this case.

has anyone actually successfully managed to get a replacement from a phone manufacturer before?

retailers may have some RMA policy in place but if its the phone manufacturer I dont know... they can be pretty stubborn

looking at your vid and the autoclicking seems similar with my previous G4. but mine worse as i have no control at all as it happen everytime. only when the brightness is 0 then i can use it 30%..everytime it start to jump / autoclicking, have to on and off screen agn.

LG ppl were saying its the screen digitizer..but they change the mobo and the digitizer for me.

its been one day since i got it back from lg..so far so good (touch wood). see how it goes..
