After the upgrade to Marshmallow 6.0. The battery life really goes to crap

I even did a factory reset but seems the battery life still cmi compared to lollipop
And it get heat up easier too.

Googled the issue and read some ppl have the issue but seems like no solution
Anyone know how to fix it?

Anybody else find that on V20c the charging is very slow? Even when I plug in a fast charger, it is still much slower compared to previous software versions :(

no solution has been found that any of us know of

SEA version of G4 is up till v20c software and it has that issue, I tried before flashing the KDZ of v20d from elsewhere, and it didnt improve either, was convinced MM on G4 was and still is simply broken.

looking at your vid and the autoclicking seems similar with my previous G4. but mine worse as i have no control at all as it happen everytime. only when the brightness is 0 then i can use it 30%..everytime it start to jump / autoclicking, have to on and off screen agn.

LG ppl were saying its the screen digitizer..but they change the mobo and the digitizer for me.

its been one day since i got it back from lg..so far so good (touch wood). see how it goes..

i think today was unlucky day, went there and they said the technician (singlular, not plural, apparently they have only 1 in the entire country or dunno what) is not in, so the phone might have to spend the weekend at the centre.

it was also pretty hard to argue my case because my favourite guy at Counter 1 isnt there and I think I got the woman cso who plays more hardball and said that they cant really claim responsibility for LG phone touch input going haywire on 3rd party charger, nevermind that this charger while admittedly 3rd party, is officially a product registered under CPS scheme (thats why it has that safety mark logo)

http://www.valore.sg/Valore/project/valore-single-usb-adapter-v-ma18/

Any LG-savvy user will understand immediately the problem with this argument. Because the G4 didnt ship with a 1st party LG fast charger, that means there exists no G4 fast charger officially made by LG (there exists one for the V10 but then that's a charger that 'wasnt designed for the G4' as you can argue). That means if you try to fast charge your LG G4 and notice abnormal behaviour, LG can try to argue they may not be liable to render support.

Hmm, did u try another G4 on your Valore chargers to see whether the same problem will occur?
Did u also try the original LG V10 fast charger on your phone?

the V10's charger i tried, it worked with no issue

another G4, i didnt get to test, probably should have asked them for one. this is why i say i miss the guy who is usually at counter 1. During 1 of my previous cases (the one where i demo that on MM, if you use 3rd party app to create files like photos on SD card, those files are unreadable on PC via MTP or airdrive), he got me a sample G4 to demo and replicate the problem on their sample unit as well.

but anyway they agreed to take in my phone (and even my charger) for the technician to examine it. I just hope they can pinpoint the cause and resolve it because Im tired of all these little annoyances on my device. The annoyance of MM's battery I already took my own effort to flash lollipop KDZ to downgrade but this is hardware related and beyond me.

Yes! You also faced the same issue? I thought I was the only one since no one else reported.

I used to be able to use the phone while charging and it will be fully-charged in 2hrs. Now if I use it while charging I can expect at least double the charging time and still might not be full!

I half expected they would say that, since the charger is not LG product, they cannot guarantee compatibility as well as performance.

They might even claim the 3rd party charger is too strong for LG battery and damaged the phone.

Having a safety mark only means it is approved for use in Singapore, doesn't mean it will work on all phones.

Try other QC2.0 chargers u can get hold of, especially the original first-party ones as they tend to use better internal components.

I have a hunch that your Valore chargers are not giving out clean voltages, or have a noisy ground that wrecks havoc with the G4 touchscreen.

That would be rubbish because the charger is rated at 5 volts, the exact same voltage as LG, as every phone charger. If my valore charger was in excess of 5V, then thats where the danger comes in but then the valore charger would be a danger to every consumer electronics that is rated 5 volts USB charging.

The current (amperage) needs to match or exceed the amount required by the phone. If it exceeds, then thats where the 'fast' charging extra supply comes from. Since amperage is tied to the power draw of the device, the more you give, the faster it will charge, unless it is consuming high power under load (eg. intensive gaming).

The final point of my argument to the CSO is that I used the same chargers (I have more than one, at different venues) on the phone and never experienced this issue until after the LCD replacement (which was last Wed) and I experienced the issue on all fast chargers I own.

Since i passed them my phone + my charger I hope the technician is at least savvy enough to conduct a proper A/B testing on my G4 vs their own G4.

During the month of january when i got back my bootloop-fixed G4, they flashed MM onto the replacement motherboard and i already had to spend money on a replacement battery just to be sure it was MM having messed up battery life and not my own battery dying.

At the moment I'm not about to entertain the thought of assembling a collection of QC chargers, would be too expensive as a troubleshooting effort

LG regulated the current intake. I checked that with my 2.1mah with a usb amp and volt meter. Current drawn is lesser than 2.1mah and is dependent on phone.

update from LG service centre, they have confirmed that after last week when i replaced my LCD with image retention with a new LCD, that LCD belongs to a newer batch whose power draw renders it no longer compatible with the valore 2.1A charger that I used.

Guess I'll just keep that charger at home for charging powerbanks in future and hunt for some other brand whose amperage level is closer to the 1.8 that LG uses for the V10.

lol lucky I didnt buy too many of those valore ones cos challenger has them on 1 for 1 discount and its very easy to get suckered in

Ah I see. I guess they are scared the phone overheat and something melts then bootloop again :s8:. No wonder the phone seems cooler now and hardly warms up.

So you mean the 3rd visit screen replacement is actually working fine? The touch screen issue is due to incompatible charger??

yes. i discussed with the technician over the phone on this matter.

the phone can still charge fast but the touchscreen input may get a bit wonky

LG can throw away their new batch of lcds.

LG can shut down their mobile division.. the bootloop issue is pissing lots of people off in GSM Arena. Their G5 gonna flop, the battery life is horrible and the unknown "sudden death" of their motherboard. It might happen in G5 again. :s13:

You can have the greatest camera in the world. It means nothing if your hardware is gonna break down 6 months down the road..
