LG G4 will get Nougat in the third quarter of 2017 (June to August). It’s likely that Korea will be among the first markets to get the update, but LG only said it would reveal details about other markets in the future.

Yeah same here. Still on lollipop as I think their implementation of Marshmallow is crap. Probably won't bother to update to Nougat when it becomes available

haha i think by the time nougat is out i would have gotten a new phone, at the moment still waiting for all the devices to hit the market and get their due reviews

for me the biggest marshmallow dealbreaker on the G4 is the SD card support which is totally broken (PCs cant read files on SD cards if the files were created by 3rd party apps. Doesnt matter if you use direct USB or LG's bridge program), theres also that little annoyance in MM where everytime you plug in the phone to a PC you have to 'OK' a prompt to let the PC access the phone. then of course, battery life, over-aggressive autobrightness dimming... list goes on...

remember when i said my phone with the replacement display (which I replaced a year ago due to image retention) tended to have a brand new issue?

e7IUKrp.jpg

finally caught it on camera. its a very intermittent issue which usually goes away after turning the screen off and on, but it is a solid example of LG's service quality

Pray your phones never have problems. Because there's no guarantee that LG can deliver a proper fix, or that they'll even bother to (like the SD card issue with marshmallow that they insist is a security related thing and thus, convinced me never to upgrade to MM).

To their credit, they've fixed my camera before and it's still working fine to this day, but just like the initial bootloop fix, this display replacement was an imperfect execution and by the time the issue was discovered again, device already out of warranty.

until LG offers some form of compensation program (like samsung offering the S8 to note 7 'victims'), the lawsuit is meaningless

like, what can I do even if the judge rules LG as guilty? Print out the news of the verdict, march to LG's service centre and demand they 'compensate' me? Exchange my G4 for a G6? They wouldn't even exchange a bootlooped G4 for another G4 back then (refusal to RMA it and instead try to fix under warranty).

To be honest I love the 2 LG phones I have used thus far, G2 and G4, but the bootlooping issue for G4 is really irritating. Had it once and got it fixed free by LG and now one day before I am about to fly off to Japan the bootlooping issue is back again. Haiz

Was really looking forward to the G6 but now I am a little concerned if this bootlooping issue will also occur in G6.

Yeah I had my 2nd bootloop on the week before I was due to fly off for overseas reservist.

I dropped the phone off on Monday, requested them to expedite it due to my special case of needing to go overseas next week. By Friday morning there was still no word so I personally called them up with a 'gentle reminder' that I needed to fly overseas next week and they fixed the phone 3 hours later.

You really have to push them if you have any urgency that needs the phone back ASAP, because for my 1st bootloop in 2015 Dec, I didn't get the phone back till almost 2 weeks later.
