yup, have come across those kind of phones with NOT FOR SALE print. These phones are not accepted in service centres for any kind of repair/upgrade work etc. Even if you are willing to pay for service, it won't be rendered.

Just thinking out loud (and nasty) here... what if you accidentally damage the phone or "loose" it :o so to speak... than how? Did you guys sign any undertaking in which instance you will be liable?

Well if you lost it, you paid for it, simple rule....
hence, I don't dare to bring it out to work :(

LG G4 doesnt support qualcomm quick charge 2.0 even though it has the 808 inside it. Charger given is a 5V-1.8A. I charged from a dead phone to 100% took about 1hr 45 mins.

Second thing, its running Android 5.1. So far I have seen the memory usage not as high as my Note 4 running on 5.0.1. Android 5.1 is believed to solve the memory leak issue with the 5.0.x builds. I will see how's the battery life of the phone and let you guys know

currently only Nexus 6 charger lets you charge to 2.4mA, sammy one also around 1.6mA
note: charge rate will drop when 80% onwards

I just hope that LG let you guys have the phone for all your effort or perhaps, a voucher or something that lets you purchase the phone at a good discounted price.

smallest F number means bigger aperture. it's confusing but people who are not camera-savvy doesn't really bother about it.

But as someone whose job is to write about technology, i think that it is something that he should be bother with no?

Perhaps it's just a poor choice of words and he meant "smallest aperture number" rather than saying "smallest aperture". :s22:

I tried the G4 camera. The manual mode is not fully manual; no aperture control as phone camera module's aperture is fixed, unable to change light metering modes.

For the front camera, no wide panorama selfie mode like Samsung however the front camera focal length is quite wide.

most, if not all handphone cameras with manual mode, cannot adjust aperture.

aperture control is not that useful on such a small sensor

light metering [matrix, centre, spot] is quite usual, many model have; maybe it's not inside the manual mode, but in the camera settings?

don't u all realize something being communicated wrongly in this video?

https://www.facebook.com/TheStraitsTimes/posts/10152726050442115

regarding the aperture? and how photo quality is compared using the screens on the G4 and S6 Edge?

i agree with this. the reviewer should have been more careful when communicating the specs and make conclusions. regardless if the audience is camera noobs or not.

this is the reason why i never bothered with mainstream media reviews. unlike our friendly HWZ editorial team :D

Maybe we should just take over his job

Yah I check through the camera settings, doesn't seem to have light metering control

Some questions for trial users..

- now that we have seen shots by the rear camera (brilliant, I must say and thanks to Chai_Latte) can we also see shots from front camera (need not be your selfie :vijayadmin: but preferably, a night shot in/outdoors?

- it does have a notification LED now does it?

- Sound quality of speaker when playing music or watching youtube videos?

- FM radio transmitter? (yep, am old fashioned but comes in handy when travelling otherwise, data charges for digital/streaming radio will kill.. :s22:)

- were there any wireless charging case(s) on display while you guys were there? (hate the flip case though..)

Appreciate, your valuable input.
wireless charging need to buy quick circle flip case....
