Anyway, manual mode, exposure are auto if you change setting for Shuttle Speed & ISO (AE-L). Do let me know if any of trial user figure a way to tune all 3 exposure/ISO/shuttle speed at the same time.

It's uploaded to facebook for the URL so pardon about the size & detail. I tuned the exposure separately on lightroom (Hence explain the slightly more grainy than usual). It's a camera on phone after all, it isn't perfect but this is probably the best you can get out of it.

There is not many chance for you to take a average photo and turn it into beautiful scene so why not take it and process it afterward, app like snapseed/instagram filter might do some tricks, but come on, no one is going to like the massive images.

Yeah not possible to change all 3 settings at the same time. I wish that they had given us this ability too and also the 3 metering modes like in Samsung S6.

The video and camera looks good. but i still feel that s6's video is 1 step ahead of g4.

There's a very big problem with the G4's video recording. The new OIS is making the video rotate clockwise and anticlockwise continuously. It's in every video taken by the G4, it's disturbing

Thanks. The photo looks great! But the upload to facebook compresses the image so much. What ISO was this on? It seems pretty noisy to me. But on a small print it looks fine.

it's on ISO 100, unedited picture looks fine, probably due to the fact I tune the exposure & white balance quite a lot.

I got so mad about it when I am ready to capture the photo. esp if you want to go for slow shuttle speed. In the end I avoid going above 1/2 seconds for bright scene, and tune down most of the exposure on lightroom. not the best way, but it does the trick.

As a photographing lover, I would buy G4 for its camera. I am using HTC B2 now, the back camera just can't compared to G4. The waterproof function on B2 is a bonus though, will keep it as secondary phone since its speaker still one of the best (along with most HTC phone) in market.

As of now, i am wowed by the camera, packed with tonnes of functions like a dedicated camera.

There are white balance, manual focus as well, I doubt you need to adjust white balance if you're on RAW mode. auto focus works well enough for really close up shot..

actually ISO + Shuttle Speed will be good for most activity. Exposure would be bonus for bright scene with slow shuttle speed for best effect. The nice thing is that the phone can directly show you how bright/dark the scene would probably be for each shuttle speed so you can choose the right one without being over/under exposure in the end.

I think they don't really understand photography terminologies. There is full control over your manual mode. Just that you can't choose your metering method (center, spot, etc.) and it's a fixed aperture (otherwise your phone would be 3 inch thick). Maximum shutter speed is also up to 30 seconds only. Wonder if there is bulb mode.

Just to clarify how a consumer camera works:

There is 2 modes which I would like to compare.

Let's say you're on Aperture priority mode, your shutter speed is on auto, and you can tweak your ISO and aperture. Based on your tweaked aperture and ISO and metering method, your camera would adjust its shutter speed (since it's auto mode) to ensure that the photo is properly exposed. This would be hard if there are very dark and bright areas. Therefore, an exposure setting of -3, 0 +3 would help you to over-expose/ under-expose one of your preferred area. In this case, a +3 would mean that the shutter speed would be auto-adjusted to be longer. A -3 would mean that the shutter speed would be auto-adjusted to shorter.

In manual mode, you have full control over aperture, ISO, and shutter speed. Exposure is controlled 100% by you. The -3, 0, +3 in this case can be adjusted just by varying the aperture, ISO, and shutter speed.

LG G4's manual mode allows you to tweak the ISO and shutter speed. It is also able to leave either one of all of them to auto. There is also exposure control and it works just like the example i described above.

Nope there is no bulb mode. But seriously I hope LG updates G4 camera software to include bulb mode, metering modes and also an exposure control wheel while setting ISO and Shutter Speed. I think this is possible coz these are software related right?

Bulb mode could be quite overkill since there's no wireless shuttle (unless they can link it to my G Watch since Google Camera can do that =P), besides Singapore are mostly light polluted, most street photo would be overexposed with just 15 seconds of shuttle.

Yeah you are correct in this. G4 doesn't have aperture priority or shutter speed priority mode. Its either you leave the camera in manual mode and dont touch any of the controls, the phone will automatically set the correct values for you, almost like the auto mode of the camera. The only difference is that you can control the exposure (-2 to +2). Its like using iPhone, you just tap and hold on the screen, then you slide up to increase exposure and slide down to decrease exposure.

BTW, since no one talked about this, in manual mode you can switch on histogram and a spirit level indicator, useful for landscape photography.

Another thing is I am waiting for the drop test of the G4 on tech sites. Haha I definitely wouldn't want to do the test to my set. But I believe the phone will put up quite well to drops. Don't know if it is just be but I feel that the screen/glass feels much more solid than my Note 4 or my brother's S6 edge. Plus its curved inwards screen should help the screen from hitting directly and flat onto the ground.
