Are we able to flash those custom ROMs like Genisys on this? I tried another ROM using flash fire and the screen just goes black (and offs itself) and nothing happens. This is with root. It says that bootloader is protected though so that might be the issue.

I only flash custom roms when they stop supporting the device, right now G4 is still doing good I doubt you should flash it onw.

No diff for me. G4 has been snappy since day 1.

That's also why I'm still holding on to it and resisting the poisons from those newer phones like Moto X Pure and Z5 =:p

how did u keep your phone snappy ? haha

Easy ...

- Only installing apps that I really use and disabling those 'bloatware' that I don't use

- Installing Nova Prime launcher to customize to my usage preference

G4's battery life has been excellent for me too (compared to all other Android phones I've used previously like the Nexus 5 & 6, Asus Zenfone, etc.)

After v10c update, i notice my battery drains about 1% every hour even when idle, i can charge it full in the night , go and sleep. Next morning there would be about 10% used up. Before the update i would have a drop of maybe 1-2% at most.

Will continue to monitor.

Update: Did a Factory reset , battery drain seems to be fixed

Hello G4 users,

is it normal for the phone to 'lag' 1 or 2 secs when you press the back button to go back to the home screen?

It would be wise to share with us how long you have been
using the phone. The longer you have been using it, the
more apps you installed. Lagging just a second or two can
be a problem of cache and here is a solution you can try:

https://www.androidpit.com/why-is-my-android-device-running-slow

It's my 2nd day owning the phone. Installed around 10 apps so far.
The widgets I have currently is only smart notice and calender

Btw, thanks for the link. Will give it a shot ;)

What browser are you using?
It seems keeping WiFi off all the time
has more advantages. Turn it on whenever you need
to use it especially in places where there is access.
