Whats the benefits of having unlocked bootloader? Would it be locked when you update to latest OTA firmware? Been years since I root my Android phones.. :s13:

You can flash your fav *insert name* ROM. I think its not safe to OTA update if you unlocked the bootloader.

Absolutely correct, sometimes we forget that these are
techniques that are being used to exploit successfully
especially those who are ignorant about the set back.

Actually, on a related side note, have any noticed the durability of LG phones have gone down over the years?

Years ago, I remembered hurling my former L7 P705 around (out of frustration with its lag) and dropped on the floor many times. No screen protector but not a single scratch or crack.

Nowadays, a drop hitting the screen flat means crack. Phones also developing problems less than 2 years. Either battery, this WIFI issue or others :s8:.

Ha,ha...have also seen such from the other camps as well.
As time goes on, need change in getting the device to be
lighter, use lighter materials and so on....

Every manufacturers face the same problems.
A tough nut is one that is heavier with better material
built into it to face the hardship of terror usage. :)

Aliexpress. Not that cheap but at least genuine plastic back cover for around $20. I ordered the white plastic and it's much more durable than the leather.

I got a G Pro 2 and a G4, my G4 hanged last night and i restarted it but it could not start up i.e. the LG logo appeared and later screen went black again. I tried taking out and putting back the batt (90% charged),using the spare fully charged batt and plugging to a power source. None of these worked. Exactly the same happened to my G Pro 2 earlier half of this year as well. And i had to send it for repair. My 3 months old G4 is not rooted and never dropped before.

I think i will not consider getting the V10 anymore and seriously reconsidering LG.

I personally feel that now a days all the major manufacturer produce short lived phones even with their flagship lines..
