Wow, seems many problems are cropping up.

Could be the heat of this year cpu frying the motherboards.... In my experience, 808 and 810 are all hot! For the wrong reasons.... :)

Few hours ago before the incident, the phone was dropped from a low height. No visible damage though, so the impact should not have been large.

Dunno if it's coincidence, or the drop really caused the failure.

And the irony is that they used a lower 808chip..mm yet it still got fried....

So far so good on marshmallow Android 6.

Really much more stable and less prone to "cooking"

Same. On latest firmware v10d, no issues so far. Very happy with it.

Can share the update procedure to avoid unforeseen hiccups? Or isit as below?

  1. Backup fone content!
  2. Update via OTA/LG SW?
  3. Factory reset default required?

If want to install custom firmware, does it matter what rooted version i use? I can just use rooted image v10a to root first, then flash another custom firmware over right?

Also, do those custom firmware have the stock camera?

LOL seems like this issue isn't isolated at all, contrary from what they said.

From the diagnosis of my phone, they said it was a hardware problem and they replaced my internal motherboard. Gonna pick it up on friday since I have lessons and hope nothing goes wrong after that. I advise everyone here to do at least a weekly backup on your sd card using LG backup or something. When the issue hits you, you really suck thumb cannot do anything alr.

I wonder if there are any LG representatives here to care to explain to us what's been happening... It's clearly a widespread issue, and they are also unwilling to replace one for one set. They said it's a motherboard issue, but I still have doubts regarding the update I installed before my phone died on me 2 days later.

Could it be that the software update actually was purposely launched to cause the motherboard to malfunction? Conspiracy :O

It really kinda sucks that the best all rounder phone of this year(imo) has such lousy after-sales service...

The edge is kind of goldenish in colour.
The white back is like a rubbery grippy material, not leather or plastic.

Looks better than the black G4 beside it.

The M1 rep said it isnt out yet.
