Seems like this is happening to quite a number of people here . So disappointed with the quality of G4. My old LG 4X HD lasted me for 3 years without any issues and it's still in working.

I think wifi is the Achilles heel of G4, at the same spot in my house, iPhone has wifi signal, G4 flickers in and out.

Well, very disappointed too like some of the brothers here. LG lost a customer for good, it was nearing the time for me to get the V10 then, but maybe 'luckily' my G4 broke down and shattered my confidence thus din put my money down for V10. If i have bought the V10, I'd be very worried about it now. Recalling the time i used it, i wonder is my G4 overheated often by the 808 chip which caused damage to the motherboard..

The G4 does heat up quite a fair bit, especially if you play games or surf net.

If you try to make a call immediately after that, your face will kena the heat...

My even older Optimus L7 P705 was tossed around without a single screen crack, scratch or phone dent

The older quad core handsets still offer better reliability. The current octo-core/deca-core devices are killing it. I don't think they're that much faster than their quad core predecessors too. Users are paying the price of crazy manufacturer obsession with more cores.

To digress a bit, ever wonder why Intel capped their consumer processors at quad core for donkey years ?

I had been very careful to always cancel the update each time... UNTIL TODAY. Tapped "Install Now" instead of "Instead Later" in my haste and now I feel the bloody difference in battery life. Draining even on standby mode. v10d was so good and stable damn it, what have you done LG?!

after using my G3 for the past few days, I find that it's actually a better phone. more responsive, smaller and lighter (even though same screen size as G4) and I don't have to worry about sweat from my palms being absorbed into the leather cover

decided to sell my G4 when it's back from servicing..

Be careful mate, I had the same problem and the trap finally got me

Btw for those who are interested, on standby mode for an hour, WiFi on with no usage, battery already dropped 3% in the last 30min.

Another problem I noticed is the WiFi has gone back to being shitty like it was before the v10d update. Been unable to connect to the WiFi from my room since activating v10e.

Err, i am not sure if data recovery centre can do it. I called Japan data recovery and they said they only do for hard drives etc but not for mobile phones. So you have to check if they got do for mobile phones. I saw websites of another one or two companies, data recovery for mobile phones not included.

Oh they didn't dismantle the whole thing n take out the board, 1 repair shop told me they run all the diagnostic tests and looked into every way already but to no avail. Thus mine still got warranty when i brought back to LG.. hope u can find a solution. Frankly speaking, i still have not gotten over my lost data and memories..

What I meant is that for data recovery centres which can do mobile phones, when they dismantle it, I guess it would void the warranty...

Mine still got a few months' warranty, so hopefully within these months I can find out a way to get the data out. Yes, we are slaves to the memories in our phones nowadays, seriously I feel I just experienced a severe memory loss (especially my tons of WhatsApp chats).

Meanwhile I shall use my old Samsung Galaxy S4

I disabled internet access to the updater app. No updating since 10c. Don't want to go through the hassle to factory reset the phone. So far, its purring like a kitten...

My Lg g4 wont sound but only vibrate for my alarm when set in silent mode and everytime I need to restart to solve this issue. Any fix on that.

All my other android phones I used like sony, samsung and xiaomi will burst my alarm loud even I put my phone in silent mode (vibrate)

Is your phone rooted?

If it is, go download this xposed module: truesilentmode.
