Folks with the looping issue...

Are all of you on V10e when the issue happen?
Anyone got it before V10e?

Though the production batch is the same.... they should not fail all at the same time.
The phones are sold at different time....
Different folks have different usage pattern....
If it is a motherboard design/production flaw, it should have manifested earlier and more random.

Just wondering if something else beside the production batch is the contributing factor.
Some are on V10d also got hit by bootloop issue.
But I've never heard of anybody on V10c that had their phone died.
In my case, I jumped from V10c to V10e, 3 days after then bootloop of death hits.

Its been 2 weeks. Lousy phone plus lousy support, next time will not get LG

I think their phones are generally ok (with a pinch of salt) aside from the G4 that goes into suicide mode for the 505 S/N series.. but service and support yes, down right lousy. No doubt about it.

If you go to LG mobile singapore facebook page u will see a lot of ppl hantam them left/right/centre about the G4 but LG dare not reply or defend itself. Goes to show something is terribly wrong.

Something is indeed wrong somewhere and somehow. No replies on the issue would ultimately give bad reputation. Bad move for them.

My G4 also seems to be ok thus far. Anyway, am prepared if it goes dead. Seems like everyone's G4 is dropping like house of cards 1-by-1 from the 505 S/N series. Mine is 505 too with 10D (rooted). Let's see what fate brings me..

As for your trip is HK, hope I can console u with this picture which I snapped while I was there 2 weeks back with the G4...

My G4 has croaked too (also '505' series)

Did everyone who sent it for servicing get told that it's a motherboard issue?

The staff wont say much unless u ask. even if u ask, they also say "maybe its the motherboard" and won't comment too much. Just will tell you need to wait ard 2weeks and will contact you once its ready.

My G4 with 505 serial also died last week during trip to Japan with boot loop.
Too bad, I'm relocated in Thailand and sending back to SG is a waste. Better throw the phone?

I believe you could send to LG service ctr in Thailand to get it checked out..
:)

LG Thailand only sells 818P, dual sim model, I think mainboard is different.
ACtually I called them and they told me overseas set is not covered with warranty and I need to pay about SGD70 just for inspection fee.

I would consider a Iphone for next since they have international warranty.

Already went and dropped off the phone at the service centre

Its not too surprising if the counter staff dont comment much cos I am sure these guys are just the front-end customer facing people, not the real tech folks who will eventually sit down and really check what is wrong with your device.

Like the guy who was serving me at the counter, because he observe the bootloop when i demo in front of him, and the screen hanged and turned black at the 'optimising apps' part, on the service slip he literally wrote "HANG AT LG LOGO. FREEZE AT APP OPTIMISING. AUTO OFF" IMO that's not the language of a tech support person.

So strictly speaking its probably against their policy to comment too much since its not like they do a on-the-spot root cause diagnosis. If they anyhow say things, customer can hold them accountable.

I come from a IT support department in my job so I also can kind of understand. I think even if a worker knows of a widespread issue, company policy may prohibit them from saying too much. Like the macbook retina display problem which Apple initially didnt admit until enough bad publicity manifested to pose a threat to the company reputation.

Aww shucks! :( I suppose you can keep it incase there's a global recall of some sort / pass it to someone who is in SG
