They leave you to do the unlocking and chances of bricking the phone for a chargeable repair. You are lucky to get a free repair while they asked me for a chargeable repair.

How much was the repair cost for you? My bootloader is unlocked and I need to send it in as well.

Hi thread starter :)

Will merge your thread with the G4 thread later so that fellow G4 owners and gurus can better advise you.

But based on what you described.. it seems like it has experienced the infamous sudden death. :(

When free, could you remove the battery and take a look at the serial number printed on the sticker beneath and post it over here?

S/N should start with 50x

Cheers

Yeah, I tried a bunch of custom ROM. Wanted to upgrade so I flashed Bootloader to 20C, next thing I know - phone died. Can't even switch on :p

normally i will just wait until the official support ends. So ya my G4 is still on stock.

They charged me $375 for g4 logic board. I had notice they will charge extravagant so long not cover by warranty be it voided or out of warranty window. Even people who brought in out of warranty phone is charged 400++ for mob and battery fix. They are simply greedy.

This will be my first and the last LG product. There is also other customer disputes that i witness before (i.e.heated argument with their representitive). Support is simply absurd.

maybe when it start exploding.. then they will do a recall?

Yeah from my observation, only defects that produce safety hazards tend to have this kind of recall. Thats why you dont see things like recall for Samsung Note 5 when the S-Pen can get stuck backwards, or Retina macbook with screen coating problem.

If they charge me that amount, I will just buy a new phone.

G4 user here... Batch 508. Just upgraded to mm. Used lg bridge and it went thru smoothly. Speed improved a lot. Much better than lollipop. And i like the fact that now the system allows u to choose what permissions to give to an app. Overall satisfied with mm and got no issue so far. Been using mm 2 days now

Sent from iPhone 666 using GAGT

the mm update now available for lg g4 via lg bridge already? Is there a difference for lg g4 dual? i try to update my lg g4 dual via lg bridge, but keep on stuck at 10b even though i keep updating... anyone can help?

Thats more than 50% of my non contracted G4 and iwent through extreme great length to get them honoring my warranty. They do tell you very specifically that there is only after service 3 months assurance.
