They charged me $375 for g4 logic board. I had notice they will charge extravagant so long not cover by warranty be it voided or out of warranty window. Even people who brought in out of warranty phone is charged 400++ for mob and battery fix. They are simply greedy.

This will be my first and the last LG product. There is also other customer disputes that i witness before (i.e.heated argument with their representitive). Support is simply absurd.

Oww! What's the reason for it?

Seems OTA update not very straight forward. I'm in version V20a and last week I receive notification that V20b is already available, but I didn't go through with it. Now I checking for update manually phone says I'm on latest software. I'm still on V20a?????

Hello, would like to enquire if 506 batch is affected, or so far it is a one off case? :s11:

you guys seen this?
http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/tech...e+a+modular+design+for+sliding+out+batteries?

I dont know what to feel about the slot thing for the G5 if it turns out to be true. If its not going to be a universal thing, then its a hardware implementation that is only going to last 1 generation of device, which imo reduces the motivation to buy accessories that make use of the slot.

Also not very keen on the motivation being a 'thinner' device, usually that means camera bumps and smaller batteries...

Teardown of LG G4. Looks like memory chip is on the motherboard, so technically it's possible to recover data if you know how and have the budget.

Er, doesn't every phone have their internal storage housed on a memory chip that is on the motherboard (together with CPU, RAM, all the basic stuff)? Where else on the phone would they put the memory?

I see h815 (SEA) 505 here mostly. 506, on H815 (Int'l) variant yes. But word is all h815 are affected, all the way to 509 and that remains to be seen or confirmed by our local friends.

Been in touch with some of the xda devs and they have narrowed the bootloop problem to the SoC. Nothing to do with firmware updates/upgrades according to their tests. Basically, Part of SoC goes kaput. Reason unknown as of yet but probability leaning towards excessive heat.

Agreed. I don't like the recent trend in phones getting thinner and thinner. I'd much rather have a thicker phone but bigger battery.

This is shiat scary!

Did lg make a proper announcement to address all affected users and what is the real cause of problem?

I have 3 friends using G4 and it isn't fair to them and those using 505 batch. Seems like their qc department isn't up to standard. Japan still #1 in qc. Samsuck used to have issue with s3 last time too, MB suddenly dead before 1yr mark

I quite like this new design of a drawer battery to replace them, rather than no removable battery

Hopefully they won't reduce the battery life :(

Should probably be remaining at 3000mAh or up 200-300mAh. It's already at the safe range that people considering it as enough

Hi guys :)

Anyone have any idea how to fix or outright disable the OIS in the G4's phone?

I don't know if any of you have actually used it to shoot video enough to notice but it makes the video very wobbly and got this 'jello' effect. Heard it's due to overcompensation in the z-axis OIS. I'd rather have it off tbh.

Is LG even working on a fix for this? Heck, do they even know about this? Just like the motherboard issue...

I hate great products that are tarnished with horrendous QC/aftersales support... Maybe it's just our local ones are trash :p
