Somewhere else in the world there's probably a sony Z3 owner who suffered the 810 overheating woes and says he'd not want to get tricked again and rather get a LG G5 :s13:

I came from the Z1 compact in the past and while the battery is good, the software still has room for improvement so until they improve that (especially their god awful camera software) and not invest effort into dumb things like 4k screen, Sony is off my watch list. I'm still open to LG but am really reluctant to maintain using 5.5" screen, after 1 year, i dont feel cut out to use it one handed.

ya but would you be willing to give sony a 2nd chance that's the thing...

Its no surprise, every brand in the past have this cockup or that cockup somewhere, or some other thing that make people want to 'stop buying' the brand

Sony = overheating of recent phone models

HTC = M9 also overheat, and people didnt like the design

Samsung = no more removable battery, smaller battery capacity, and no microSD made 'power users' feel abandoned in 2015

LG = bootloop of G4 and how LG was slow to acknolwedge

So like that who is left? Shall we all just get Xiaomi?

yea actually with latest rumours saying Mi5 might have microSD (for me a must-have), my interest in xiaomi is reignited.

about zenfone i tend to pass Asus because they're still loaded with bloatware on their phones. Its like Samsung back in the 2012-2013 days with touchwiz. Asus also traditionally has weak camera (even their new Zenfone zoom) and battery life

Ugly ass phone! I will keep my G4! LMAO!

Yes... As much as I like LG, I have to say this phone was designed by someone visually challenged..... If this is what the G5 looks like, I have to give it a miss.

The back of the phone is hideous.

Supposedly xiaomi os makes samsung touchwiz look smooth like ios.

New g5,imo, looks nicer than g4 which had too much bezels.

Concern for me would be the small battery size, the stupid always on screen(battery drain) n the removal of the back buttons...

The quality of Sony smartphone camera is a well know issue. Anyway is out of the topic.

Don't get me wrong, I love my G4.. If it's not because of LG's **** up attitude and behaviour! I would still be a fan of LG mobile!

The magic slot/external accessory is really ugly. Don't know what the heck LG design team is thinking.

For me they should have just made the phone a little thicker to just until camera bump is gone, then they can squeeze in a few hundred maH battery and even a circuit for DAC and amp. 2 accessories eliminated.

As for the camera accessory well no person on his right mind will care about those dials or extra buttons, its not even ergonomical. Manual controls on the V10 is good enough. If I want something more then I'll bring a proper camera.

Features for the sake of having features, just to try and seem special or innovative.

I still think a phone without special features, but with really good 'standard' features (like really good battery or really good camera sensor) is still the ideal product

I think the most recent 'special feature' that actually has practical benefit is the zenfone zoom's optical zoom innovation. If Asus had used a bigger sensor, and didnt have dumb software features like dropping frames when recording video at low light, the zenfone zoom could have been a real killer camera phone

Wow, that's pretty good feedback and evaluation for LG and
the rest of the industry.

However they will still knee to their ego to
design features for feature sake, disregrading whether
the consumers' preferences.

If the 'standard' features of a phone (eg the battery life and camera sensor cited) are on par with key competing phones, I don't see any problems with a phone incorporating extra features. Worst case, I won't use the new feature. Best case, I might just find something I really like!

So far I've yet to use an LG smartphone but having played with the G4 and V10 at stores, I must say that LG offers many features that resonate with me (eg simple things like customisable home/back/recent apps buttons and a calendar app that allows me to read appts at a glance in the monthly view). And the new rumored features of the G5 like the Always-On second screen and magic slot really intrigue me.

So if the G5's camera quality, battery life and other key standard features are at least on par with the best that Samsung has to offer, I think I know what my next phone is going to be...

l hope spending two solid months on research to up grade
from Samsung Note One to an LG Pro 2 won't go down the
drain, after gone through Sony and Nokia fantasy.

Having faith that LG will live up to their main focus that
Life is good!
