I also got it last week. Its so much better in terms of the added functionality like builtin call sms blocker, split screen and screen dpi. Battery performance did not feel any different from marshmallow but did not really measure SOT. When comes android 7.1, we will have builtin animated gifs.

I will be getting a free upgrade to unlocked LG G5 from Nexus 5x after RMA with LG USA.

Is the latest firmware stable at least? Or shpuld i stick to stock firmware that they give me?

I guess I have to wait patiently for the update. Hopefully update for my batch comes quick.

Ditched the G5 for the Mate 9 Pro. Was a fan of LG smartphones for quite some time (G Pro, G3, G4 and G5).

Mate9 pro is really good but expensive at the moment and really like the wide angle lens now.

How much did you get for mate9 pro? From where

Yes exactly me too! Frustrating. New os supposed to bring improvements. But always the battery suffered the most.

Think mate9 is good a choice to go now

Both my parents are G5 owners and I've been helping them to stave off the OS update ever since the notification dropped.

The syndrome of battery getting worse when an old phone updates to a new android generation is a habit of LG and probably one of the easiest reasons to argue against owning a LG device if you want to use it long term.

I upgraded a new lg g5 to nougat via the pc bridge, no issue with battery life. Phone can last one day with 20-30% left

That's good to know. I sent mine in regarding my passive drain. They changed the motherboard and it was done the second day.

Came with September update, and I updated it to October update. But now, the newer updates are not showing both in bridge and ota. Battery drain is fine though.

Actually not really. I think is true for most Android devices. Previously my Sony also experience this when i upgraded the os.

Dirty flashing often have issues with software from android phone manufacturers, for some reason.

I ran custom roms on all my phones before G5, and the only time a clean wipe is needed after upgrade is when I'm upgrading to a totally newer software (i.e jellybean to marshmellow). Updates within same software doesn't get affected by dirty flashing.

Indeed. My Xiaomi Note 3 also suffering bad battery consumption since the latest update to M. To be fair, even iPhone users will also complain battery consumption for iPhone updates too.
