It's still not that great. I caught on last week that the default setting was on the lowest but changing it to 5mp was not a huge improvement. I think the strength of the G6 is its rear facing camera. It cannot compete with say the P10 Plus for selfies.

Yes bro totally agree, the front cam i would say lose out on most of the phones out there even oppo and oneplus

It's odd that the G4 and G5 both had 8MP selfie cameras while they decided to stick with 5MP for the G6.

Just joined u guys. Got a platinum today.

Agreed. Generally the China phones are very selfie centric hence their front facing cameras tend to be very good

Agree. I went to a telco last week to compare my Huawei Mate 9 and LG G6 selfies with the same setting. The Mate 9 quality turned out much brighter with more details however I won't deny that the G6's wide angle might be more useful in many circumstances. The lack of details is not that apparent when selfies are taken in wide angle. G6 has a more natural colour while Mate 9 appears to be brighter than normal skin colour which might appeal to many ladies. The trick with Mate 9 is that no matter how, the selfies will turn out beautiful, similar to Oppo.

I did realise the importance of wide angel camera, both rear and front when I travelled with my Mate 9 two weeks ago and felt abit restricted with some shots. Wished I had the G6 with me at that time :s13:

Anyway thank you for compiling the price of G6! Most likely to get one when I go Europe in July. I believe will be very useful for Eiffel tower! Hahaha

It's very obvious from all reviews that G6 front cam CMI compared to others. For the price, the front cam is crap.

what ear piece you all gonna use to utilize the quad dac?

I dont think ppl will just magically run out to buy a new earpiece for the sake of the quad DAC?

The way I see it, if youre an audiophile, you probably already had your ideal audio gear long before LG started putting 32-bit DACs in phones.

If you're not an audiophile, you may not even notice if someone swapped your G6 for a US variant and lacked the DAC, your earpiece will just be that cheap generic one you got from whatever shop like the xiaomi pistons, and your files are probably just generic MP3s

What I think is this: The DAC/amp benefits a certain niche of users, those who have high impedance gear, which are your big headphones that have these ohm ratings that go from 50 to several hundred, then the DAC/amp offers the real tangible benefit, cos now you have a phone that can drive those cans properly.

If you use typical earphones, their impedance is already low enough (16-32 ohms) that a generic phone DAC would already do just fine.

I'll be using my Westone UM 30 PRO in-ear monitors. They are 56 ohms therefore will automatically kick the G6 quad dac into the high gain mode without any hassle. But I'm using these babies mainly because of the sound signature. Fast speedy bass, Buttery vocals, and smooth treble. Combined with the G6 I think it will help expand the soundstage by abit but I have yet to get the phone so can't comment how well they pair up together :D

Here is the link but I think those earphone shops in sg carry them as well.
