LG or Philips OLED?

OLED has shorter lifespan compare to normal LED TV and considerably expensive than Mini LED TV.

My brother in law's CX is still rather good. Been a few years liao. I guess its really down to how you use the TV.

5-6 years is good enough for most here. On the average most would change it once it hits 4 years. If the screen don't fail then something else will.

I've decided to go with the C1 ($2788 with LG swivel) and save the extras on the Sonos Beam (Gen 2). Was offered $3449 for the C2 but I feel that with my kind of viewing time it won't be worth the extra $600. Although I really do want the latest but struggling to justify the C2's price tag. Back and forth a while but just can't make myself confirm that deal.

Good that you found a VFM C1 panel... makes the other brands such as Philips or Prism less competitive despite their claims of being discounted... especially Prism..

Prism was in my sights but it quickly fell out of target. In the course of doing my homework I found that Philips OLED are more expensive than LG for some reason. Thought it was the other way thus Phiips was part of the choice but I am wrong.

The reviews for Sonos Arc are phenomenal but it's way out of my price range.

Just need something simple without the sub as my display has limited space plus my wallet is even more limited in budget.

Looking forward to purchasing an OLED TV for my new place and deciding between the LG C2 and Philips 806. Sony is not in the list because I can’t bloody afford it. I find myself leaning towards the 806 because of the Ambilight but not sure is it a gimmick. Looks really good though when it’s on display at the shops. C2 is natural on the list as a successor to the C1 and even the panel on the 806 is from LG.

Have read the reviews on both and feel that both performs well but just want to have the best bang for my very limited buck.

Yours thoughts please.

go for phillips . also have 3 year warranty

Philips 806 is using C1 panel while 807 is using C2 panel. I wont buy 806 over C2 but will consider 807 over C2.
