Should I wait to recontract with this phone when it is released or recontract with another phone first and buy this full price when it is released in SG

Thing is I am currently paying the normal telco bill prices and now I am eligible for CIS discount which is a pretty significant reduction (~35%) on the monthly bill. And I just hit 21 months today.

yes...so far left only this brand with removable battery... :s12: back to LG after currently using old Samsung phone that have removable battery...

saw people bid for the phone already... so far around 518... but saw the retail price at 2999... maybe this is only marketing gimmicks to attract buyers...even the "Buy now" also at 1299...

what the reason for the above 1K price tag?

Reason for the 1K price tag:

Sometimes the marketing dept or the management
may fall due to the idea of making a quick profit out
of this new product.

So this is one method to test the market of what
potential consumer would be willing to pay.
It's a good move else deciding the price themselves
may not work.

However it has proven time and again that a remarkable
affordable price for a quality product always with good
after sales service will be the winner.

As for sure the 1K price tag isn't popular among the
mass market while the removable battery isn't a must have
for many many consumers.

The question is: What will happen if
a competitor suddenly comes out with a device that
is half the price of 1k but with features just as good
as the V20?

I doubt thats the final actual MSRP but there is a point that LG this year has completely given up on even trying to undercut its competitors. When the G5 came out it was barely 10-20 SGD cheaper than the samsung S7. This is different from past years where the price difference between the phones was a 3 digit figure. It kind of feels like LG is turning into a premium wannabe, the way Sony did when they set the price tag for Xperia X performance.

With the current market experiencing a rise in midranger priced phones with great specs, anyone who's not Samsung or Apple who wanna try and sell phones at Samsung/Apple premium price tags, I dont forsee success for them. You can make all of Samsung's phones have battery explode issues and I bet Samsung still gonna have better sales than LG

Let it scream more first la. Don't wasted the chance to get such a powerful phone. I don't see other options beside V20 since already reaching end of 2016. Pixel is not my thing.

Now considering htc10 tomorrow available here..

HTC 10. It’s more of what you’re looking for in a flagship phone. Unparalleled performance. Superb 24-bit Hi-Res sound.

The world’s first*Optical Image Stabilization in both front and back cameras.

And one of the highest smartphone camera rankings ever from*DxOMark. All in a beautifully crafted metal unibody.

Are you into mobile photography? HTC 10 camera not that good from the reviews I read so far. Only a mediocre camera. V20 has excellent manual modes and settings. But no doubt, its sense ui is very light weight and responsiveness is good.
