"Later on, you realize that while its technical capabilities are awe-inspiring, they’re not something the average user would ever need. Seriously, manual video controls and Hi-Fi sound recording are overkill for a phone!"

That's his opinions I guess.... No such thing as overkilling imo. If the average don't know / don't like to use, then don't use. But when there are times where we want to record better video and sound, I will be glad that the options are there.

"The LG V20 is not really a mainstream device. It is built for power users, camera fanatics, audio enthusiasts, and content creators – for the mobile gamer, for the adventurous photographer, for the guy and his band in his garage, or for the hyped young YouTuber who just got his first 1000 subscribers."

Not everyone wants to use iPhone also leh.... What talking him....

I recently shot my friend's wedding gate crash on my V10 and edited using premiere pro without any filters or color correction. The guests were stunned when they realised the video was shot using a phone... So I don't think V20's features are overkill at all

It is all about the art of equipping.

The manufacturers equip their devices with more appropriate
features for any users who wants the features.

Next it is about people whose mindset that the phone is a
device for talking and messaging and won't want to learn
to use it as a still or video camera, a recording device.

To this people it is about the unnecessary effort in the
process of learning new skills to be more effective as
living life fully. :s8:

We've already established this before with the V10. The usual Red White, Moby shop, MS, etc. LG Singapore honors the warranty for phones purchased from these stores.

I have a v10 that started bootlooping last week. Got warm one day, rebooted by itself and then never worked again.

I second that, my v10 bootlooped 2 weeks ago and recovered for 3 mins using the hair dryer trick before hanging and never recovering after that. Mine was a black dual Sim Hong Kong set.

Then I found out my buddy's blue Singapore set bootlooped a month ago and never recovered.
Not impressed with LG's Snapdragon 808 mobo design.

I do need a dual sim phone with sdcard support and the IR blaster is always a bonus. Hopefully the v20 will not fail on me. Otherwise the 2 other candidates are the Moto Z Play and the Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro(coming same week as the v20 as conveyed to me by a Samsung sales rep I met)
