c0oL, did you check if the fan was whining even when not mounted on the case? Last time I had this case which also made a whining sound because of the air blowing through the grill pattern, kind of a whistle effect... I checked the fan outside the case and it was alright, no sound. After that I changed to a different fan then the problem was solved.

Are you guys all waiting for potterhouse to respond about the fan monitor? I feel like going for MO liao... :o

ya i agree. sometimes is not the fan that makes the noise is the air.

My blowhole makes the highest volume in the night. Using old CM white light case fan. showing 2500rpm on my abit mb monitor.
was actually thinking of changing to AC silent case fan but most probably that wont solve the noise unless i cut the blowhole grills.

I change both my scythe and silverstone to arctic cooling fans and i can hear the diff....

anyway, sound is sensitive, so diff people diff view.... in fact, i like the arctic cooling fan so much, i replace my rocket pro with a freezer 64 :)

F-01A. Match my PC7+. ;)

The bezel is A silver. Match the Lian Li PC7+. I did not buy it, Because I has two bezel "C Silver" bundled with my casing.

The arctic fan is much cheaper than both scythe and silverstone, although the missing thing here its speed control knob....

ADDA are good, but a bit too loud for my liking.....Im using 2 arctic cooling 3TC 80mm fans as exhaust, arctic freezer 64 to cool my cpu.....the sad thing here is, arctic cooling dun have a 120mm fan...which i hope in the near future they will make it....

PCI blower from Circle Data is a good deal. Quiet yet high flow. More important it cost 15 buck for a 2500rpm, 32cfm fan.

ragnarok05, let me share some estimates I have with all the HWZers here...

Buying just 1 piece will cost S$82:
30 USD + 8 USD (est. shipping in US) + 18 SGD (est. VPOST to SG)

2 pieces in 1 order will at S$134 / 2 = S$67 each.
60 USD + 9 USD (est. shipping in US) + 18 SGD (est. VPOST to SG)

Slightly better if can go up to 5 pieces, just under S$60 each.
150 USD + 12 USD (est. shipping in US) + 26 SGD (est. VPOST to SG)

More than that not much difference already because the VPOST charges will also scale up due to bulk, plus we may be slapped with customs tax, so it may even end up more expensive. Any comments?

Is the 120mm fan blower noisy?

:s8: The blower fan not that noisy. There is a rubber pad on the support secure to the case to cut down on vibration. Anyway I think its really a good idea to mount a blower fan there cause the slot area is rather hot and cramp, esp if you are running SLI.

Curious qns.....for all

Hello... fellow Lian-ers, do any one of you know which way and why should the rear 120mm fan be position? should it be drawing out air or intaking air? I think you all didn't notice...from what the official site indicate, V1000's rear 120mm fan is exhausting air but the V1000 plus (which is my model) is intaking air. This is due that V1000 (non plus) comes with a 120mm air duct behind the case while the V1000 plus model come with a internal 120mm air duct and blower fan. My question is, if I only use the blower fan and not the internal 120mm air duct should my 120mm rear fan be exhausting or intaking? Which way will it maxium my cooling solution?

Sorry if this is noob question...... =:p
