Linux is all well and good until something go wrong and u got to use the command line to fix. You will find certain instructions on the internet to cut and paste, then it will return error and you won't noe what succeeded or which part failed and what the current state of your Linus system is in. Eventually ish end up doing wipe and reinstall again. Easiest Linux I used dat didn't have dis issue was the one on Asus' Eee PC. It really worked well. U can experiment on the various flavours of Linux on your current PC using Virtual Machines. Windows itself already comes with one.

Wah lau eh, Eee PC is how many decades ago liao? Linux desktop has improved many times liao, I am using Fedora Kde as my daily PC and seldom need to use shell to fix anything.

Go ahead and give Linux Mint a try, its pretty stable and straightforward. Just google if you need any help.

Personally I find pop os the easiest to transition to from windows. Go check it out. It is much easier to get started. They have an app store to take care of software updates.

Linux mint is not bad also.. but if you not a power user then frankly most of the features you won't need.

I also googled best Linux version always mint comes out at the top

But when using, I always encounter two annoying problems:

1) dual booting between Linux mint and Windows, the system clock will always be inaccurate (different by one day or so)

2) the Linux mint sound driver has this annoying click (driver initialization) whenever a sound is played. After a while, it gets on your nerves

The above two issues prevent me from switching to Linux mint permanently. I rather use Windows 10 without updates

Oh, if you install dual boot mode, sometimes Windows update will wipe the dual boot system files. Ended up have to reinstall Linux mint again. Annoying. Happens a few times.

If command line isn't your thing, then you should probably start learning if you really want to start. Otherwise, definitely not a thing for you.

You now have the advantage of modern internet, multiple net-capable devices lying around, and an extensive wiki to help you troubleshoot.

I have been dual booting Windows and Mint for years. I have encountered 1 before, but there is a fix. 2, either I don't have it or it doesn't bother me.

Sounds more like windows problem than Linux problem. It presumed that there is no other os

I prefer Ubuntu but mint should work fine. But if you not programmer and don't know terminal command just pay the $100+ for windows license

Linux always has some quirk when it comes to compatibility. Also alot of software won't work e.g your headphone software to change the led color, mouse software to tune the macro
