Looking to get a mini-ATX build to replace my micro build from 4 years ago to save space.

Will keep the following items:

Zotac AMP! 6GB
Samsung SSD 1TB
Samsung SSD 128GB

seems like there are alot of Ryzen Builds. Are they good?

Depends what kind of hardware you're putting in and how good is the ambience ventilation is.

Being small, all the heat is expelled immediately.

Blower type gpu is the way to go, open air type is acceptable but don't expect all out OC. 9700K I doubt you can. Those 9th gen Intel is so hot, it's ridiculous when ppl used to say "buy Intel coz AMD is slow and hot". How things had changed with AMD Ryzen efficiency honestly.

any compact casing that support mATX and has decent cooling?

I know of some lian lis, Corsair carbide Air 240,silverstone and some jonsbo models.

basicall models that are around 310x310mm (height and width) or smaller

I using this for 1xRyzen 1700x and 1x6600k.

Not bad! Using 120 AIO with it. Got 1x at 20 in caraohell and another at 35
