hmm okay.. so actually i can just get any SSD 60GB? even the cheapest one? from Laser Distribution price list, seems like the ADATA S510 SATA3 60GB and the OCZ Agility SATA3 60GB are the cheapest at $115. but not sure if i should just spend a little more to get the Crucial M4 SSD 60GB, since i've read around and Crucial seems trustworthy.
Erm, it would be naive to think that 60GB is just enough for OS and D3. OS itself 20GB for 64-bit Windows 7, then wad about the drivers? GPU driver? Audio driver? LAN driver? USB driver? etc. The OS, drivers and other miscellaneous important stuff would already set u back by about 40GB. So left 20GB for you to install D3. D3 12GB so left abt 8GB of SSD space for you to install important apps such as web browser n other stuff. Soon after u will complain u run out of space. Throw the rest to HDD? Might as well get a 120GB/128GB SSD and you can utilise the space for essential/everyday applications without really having the need to worry about running out of space? :)

Recommended 120GB/128GB SSD:
Crucial M4 128GB - $199 (3-year warranty), Laser
Intel 520 120GB - $257 (5-year warranty), PCThemes
Plextor M3S 128GB - $259 (5-year warranty), Laser

PS: I also used to have this 60GB cheap SSD thinking until Money$face highlighted this to me. :)

Woah that actually made a lot of sense.. Hmm okay! Then I think I'll take your advice and go for the 128GB SSD then..

so this would be my final setup!

CPU + MB : i5-3450+Gigabtye B75M-D3V @ $360
GPU : Palit GTX 560 1GB OC @ $225
DVDRW : LG 24X DVD-RW Sata @ $25
RAM : PC3-10600/1333MHz G.Skill DDR3 (Black PCB) 4GB x 2 @ $56
PSU : SuperFlower 550W Amazon 80+Bronze @ $79
HDD : Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000.C 500GB [SATA III] @ $108
SSD : Crucial M4 128GB @ $199
Casing : Sharkoon T28 Red/Blue/Green @ $89

Total damage : $1141

anything else to fine tune? :)

anyway, i was looking at the Gigabtye B75M-D3V, and i realise there is only 1 SATA3 port, and my friend suggested that i use that SATA3 port for the SSD. so for the HDD, should i just settle for a SATA2 HDD instead?

Since u r planning to buy Superflower 550W Amazon, might as well take advantage of the PCThemes promotion:

Sapphire HD 7850 OC 2GB + Superflower 550W Amazon 80+ Bronze - $405

It will up your budget by $101 but Sapphire HD 7850 OC totally outperforms Palit GTX 560 1GB OC in GPU performance, so it's a nice performance boost for your rig esp if u wanna play graphic-intensive games like BF3 and Crysis 2. Yups. :)

hey guys! i'm prob gonna get my rig next week.. together with the it fair. gonna get my monitor at the it fair though. but may i ask, do they give any free stuffs if i purchase the monitor from the it fair? cos my friend is the one who recommended me t get it from there instead.

and i was wondering, other than the ASUS ML239H @ $249, ASUS VS239H @ $255, DELL U2312HM @ $289, is there any other particularly good brands of monitor out there? looking for probably a 23" one. Would prefer a monitor that looks nice as well! and im intending to use my monitor for ps3 gaming too.. not very sure if it comes with the hdmi audio together. anyone knows?

oh yea, about the hdd, would the hitachi 500gb one be good enough? was considering wd too, but heard they have a reputation of crashing sometimes.. since the gigabyte processor only has one sata3 port which i would be using for the SSD, i think the hdd can be sata2 too.

thanks!!

y u wan gtx560/ti?
yes. psu more than enough
-----------------------------
go it fair take a look. sometime they sell monitor cheaper
but still pls do your homework. chk for price etc.
do go for IPS monitor
brand u can go for: asus, dell, samsung

ssd use sata3 port and the rest use sata2 > wont affect performance
hitachi hdd overall performs better than blue
