Many EVs are energy guzzlers. Also got jokers playing games/movies in their cars, wasting electricity..... nothing changes.

Tesla is legit in terms of no dealer profit. But tesla ev is much poorer in value compared to some China brands - byd and xpeng. Unfortunately, these 2 brands are carried through dealer.

So end result is tesla and China ev both sells about the same price, but tesla has higher parf at the end of the day.

However, for the higher parf you get back, you own a car which is comparatively more inferior to China competitors.

So there's no free lunch in Singapore.
You want a feature packed ev, you gotta pay for dealer markup. If you can accept an average half-baked EV that makes you subscribe to everything and locks you out half the time, then you can save a bit with tesla.

TS, why bother?

They want to drive what then drive what la.

LTA already decided. They got nothing to say except keep shouting U-turn U-turn, this and that when the clock continues to tick onto 2030.

IMHO.

"In addition, EVs are equipped with Battery Management System which ensures that the battery operates within safety limits while charging and discharging, thereby mitigating the risks of electrical, thermal or mechanical failures."

The risk is when the EV is neither charging or discharging or in-use.
same thing can be said for samsung note 7

so when Gov fleet full EV?

2030 - All new car registrations will be cleaner-energy vehicles.

IMHO.
Gov already "U-Turn". Last time point to EV. Now is cleaner-energy vehicles.
I would say, quite a few people highlight enforcement for traffic, if still need these officers to charge the EV, output will be lower.

I will foresee the EV charging rate going up once adoption rate is high since Singapore is running out of grid power generation and electricity have to be purchased from other countries such as Australia through solar power generation.

1. Total cost ownership of EV is lower than ICE
2. EVs are less likely to catch fire
3. Publicly accessible EV chargers are readily available
4. Benefit of PARF rebate is realised upfront
  1. Where's the calculation for this?
  2. Red herring. EV fire is difficult to suppress. EV is relatively new, comparing with long history of ICE doesn't make sense.
  3. How many of which are DC fast chargers? Let's put it this way, the addition of EV is low now, but when everyone adopts, is the amount adequate?
  4. PARF rebate as no emission? Doesn't defray the nonsensical high cost of road tax.
