Pelican. Cameramen trust it with their gear when have to check in. If can afford Rimowa aluminium luggage, should check out Pelican first.

if u using some unknown brand , they give you back a cheap one lo ...
if urs expandable, they would give you back the same ...
that's for SQ ...

The contractor that came to collect luggage even when i took different plane is the same person. And like i said, replacement is of same calibre. If your friend's filmsy replacement luggage isn't a chapalang brand then it's the carrier that's cheapo

For SQ or cathay, those 5* airline, if cannot be repaired they would give you one more new luggage ... My fren recently flew SQ. her luggage was damaged, however the replacement was those very chui and flimsy type ...

For other airline, you might want to check with them ...

For budget airline such as jetstar, they would tell you to get official quotation, with the company heading from 2 local luggage repairer in singapore .
hence, is most likely you wont be able to get, cox no one so free do an official quotation for you, instead of just replying your email ...

If there is a hole in the luggage, how can you repair it, yet jetstar still wants you to get the repair quotation ... weird ...

Didn't know can claim from airlines. My luggage was damaged when i last flew with cathay. Should have approached their staff at that point of time.

I think budget airlines just want to avoid the compensation.

actually who will even keep the luggage purchase receipt, I don't. Insurance claim also not easy for damage luggage. Buy insurance easy claim always a different story afterwards. :s22::s22:

Even of you keep the ink would have probably faded

Sadly, I didn't buy insurance. One of my luggages was cracked while the lock came off for the other. Don't know how they load and unload the luggages

you can try to file a damage luggage report claim on the respective airline website. However, if yours is budget airline, do not have high hopes on that.

It has already been some time, don't think they will deal with it. Will take note of it next time. Thank for the advice!

I wouldn't want to spend that much on luggage since it will get scratches or some form of damage easily

Same here. after knowing the people would throw our luggage anyhow ...
just buy a cheap and average one would do , since always travelling
