Hi guys, be it a one off trip or if you are a frequent flyer....how about we discuss and recommend the best luggage (in your opinion) for the respective travel?

Hopefully if you can state the brand, type(for check in or carry on) , wheel type(4 wheel or 2 wheel and price if any?

No spamming of your luggage selling sites n please put your WTS posts in the Travel Bazaar...

Reviews/Comparisions are welcome!

I find 4 wheels to be more easy to travel.. and hard covers.. the cloth cover types tends to tear over the years and very easy to get dirty

Prefer 4 wheel, easier to push than to pull a 2 wheel.

I've a couple of Samsonites because I buy when they're really cheap in US and then bring them back. I've an antler one that has been around for about 5 years, still going strong and it's affordable too as it's commonly on sale at luggage fairs.

I just bought an Antler 4 wheeler from Robinson's coz they having a small luggage fair now till Sunday. Samsonite is still my first choice but the price is just a little out of my budget... :(

This will be my first 4 wheeler... Was using the cheapo 2 wheelers (bought from carrefour, NTUC, etc) in the past, and decide to ditch them coz its really hard to maneuver them around. Hopefully this Antler won't disappoint me!

I still prefer 2-wheelers as I have seen fair share of damaged 4-wheelers at airports. As I travel China for pass few years, I will order one from taobao, fly in with a damage luggage and fly back with a new luggage. Cheap price so no heart pain when damage, just order another one.

How much cheaper is HK for Delsey and samsonite?

Warranty only cover manufacturing defects damage by airline if airport not covered unlike Briggs and Riley.

These 2 brands are cheap in states usually us$60-80 for a 27-29 inch bag. I read at windgate those bags are scratched and still cost ~hkd$1000-1200. Yucks.

how is american tourister? samsonite is way out of my budget. the 68cm cost 300plus, even after sale..

will be heading to HK next week, will head over citygate for cheap luggage.

Established luggage brands are usually cheaper in Europe, in particular Samsonite. I've been using Samsonite S'Cure hard cases for a while. If arent travelling to Europe, u can still buy them from an Italian Ebay seller at a good price, shipped directly (Fedex 2-3 days) to Singapore.

Link is here: http://stores.ebay.com.sg/cuoieria/

Alternatively, u can purchase from their online store at Cuoieria, Solo Grandi Firme | Offerte su Valigie e Trolley delle Migliori Marche | Borse e Accessori da Viaggio

Just for your info that Samsonite repair cost is very expensive.

I went there to repair my American Tourister, I was shocked to see the price. The cheapest repair item is S$80 or S$100, I forget liao. Luckily mine still under waranty, if not i rather throw it away.

I'm into business travel. I always carry on. No wheels. Straight carry. My preferred bag is the Tatonka Flightcase. The original version. Of course if got money, I will buy a Tom Bihn or Red Oxx.

If I need a check-in, any 25" roller can do.
