Shld be fine if you update BIOS to latest. I was using the silverstone one with my Z97 Mpower. Just need to update first before reinstalling OS into it.

just like to update that i tried to install today and it worked.
just a reference here in case in the future some people need it:
i am using MSI Z97 Gaming 5 with a Samsung 960 Pro.
when i first started, windows 7 installation could not detect the samsung drive. so i googled and found out that i needed some sort of nvme driver. i grabbed a empty thumbdrive and extracted the driver files to the empty thumbdrive, and simply select the driver file in the windows 7 installation and i was good to go
please let me know if this is not allowed. the nvme drivers can be obtained here , look for "parsec" 's post and the last 2 lines was what i did.
